  1. when was last school size of usf to lose to mcheese state at home??? Last year, Georgia Tech lost to Middle Tennessee at home by 21 points. It does happen.
  2. Just got back from UF Preview, their version of orientation. My oldest daughter, who has been going to USF football games since she was born, decided she wanted to go to UF and starts next month. I was sad that she decided to go there instead of USF, but know she will do well. I grew up a Gator football fan since my Dad went there, but when USF got football, I left UF football behind and have been a season ticket holder from the start. I could not bring myself to do the Gator Chomp when they had the kids and parents do it.
  3. There are many on here that really would see this as a positive.
  4. Naaa, I would rather have a win against them. (They could have been playing for the national championship if it were not for that loss at USF).
  5. I don't like the number in the conference name. What about when the conference membership goes to 14?
  6. Louisville also has top 5 men's basketball program and if you saw their commercial during the Sugar Bowl, you saw that over the past few years they have had more Rhodes scholars that two Ivy League schools. Its more than having a good football program. I was referring to the state of the football program and that things can turn around in a relatively short time.
  7. Three years ago, UL was where USF is now and they made the best of the situation. That is all we can do to get ourselves out of the conference mess we are in, get better and make ourselves more valuable to other conferences. I think CWT can do this, so lets see what happens.
  8. All coaches also receive other benefits, including a $10,000 stipend from the Gators' Nike contract, a vehicle and income from football camps. Both Durkin and Quinn have contracts that run through 2014 Contracts are meant to be broken - see "Holtz, Skip" $340,000.00 + Vehicle + income from football camps. What can USF offer? A laurel and hardy handshake.
  9. Just because they are getting press does not mean it is good press. I think it would set us back in the long run to have hired Petrino. Most of what I see has to do with Petrino being a sleazeball and having to go to Western Kentucky to get another chance. Also, hiring Petrino reflects a Win At Any Costs mentality and this is not what I would want to see from USF. Most also think he will be gone in a year and on to better things. I would not want to go be setting us up for another coach transition within the next year or so. I also want to be able to take my wife and daughters to the games.
  10. Are you talking about commits or assistant coaches?
  11. the problem is we haven't seen anything saying that he has There are times when deals are made without people talking about it. Any way, if it happens it happens, if not we move on. Not life or death. nobody knew wisky coach was going to arkansas. nobody knew rutgers and maryland were going big ten. same with pitt syracuse. odds are if it's happening we don't hear about it before it actually happens. But the difference is, there is a lot of anticipation for this coach hiring. It is different when nothing is expected.
  12. This. Get this done so I can concentrate on my work.
  13. Last night was why you fire a coach before the end of the season. It signals that things will change so the players and fans are not left wondering what will happen. I was at the game last night and have never been to a game with so much dispair. Before the game I did not feel like we could win, even against a bad Pitt team. There has to be a coaching change.
  14. His positives were toward the beginning. The last 1 2/3 years have been abysmal. It amazes me that just last year, we beat Notre Dame. Now it seems so long ago.
  15. Woolard said he would review Holtz after the season. I am sure that is still the plan.
