Crazy what not totally overhauling a working system does for success, right?
Scott Frost laid his UCFast foundation after a rough first season and goes undefeated. Then instead of hiring a defensive-minded coach who would totally want to 'slow the offense down' from scoring too fast and totally destroy his predecessor's foundation, they hire Heupel whose system also runs a fast-paced no huddle offense to decent success (what a crazy concept!), and finally move on to Malzahn whose offense is also known for its no-huddle RPO scheme. And holy crap, it worked. Now imagine if they had hired Charlie F'ing Strong after Frost...
If only we had kept the GCO mentality going. FL players are fast and athletic, they thrive in such systems. But alas, here we are.
