  1. Holy crap, we are so bad that if you bet $5, and we win, then you make $32.50. Can't say I've seen too many bets like that at the FBS level.
  2. Tony Elliot, the other finalist for the USF HC job, now has 2 FBS wins - doubling CJS - in 0.5 years.
  3. Repeatedly losing to Rutger and Pitt and sometimes UCONN definitely did get old.
  4. Rewatching some games from the (in)famous 2007 season and seeing the players' hometowns. What do you notice? It is evident that a solid FBS-BCS team can be built without ever having to leave FL. That's definitely one of the biggest reasons for the success of CJL and CWT. Kind of upsetting that teams like Temple are out-recruiting USF when it comes to FL and the Bay area.
  5. Case in favor of keeping him: there is a lot of young talent on offense to get excited about. Most of them would most likely transfer out if Scott is fired. Case against: everything else. Record, failure to recruit defensive players, failure to develop/keep great defensive players that are ballin' out somewhere else, record, and record.
  6. Brown definitely seems like the QB of the future. Sucks we have all this awesome young talent on offense that we'd potentially lose by firing CJS - though it's well-deserved at this point.
  7. Taggart proved you don't need that well of Xs and Os to win in the lowly AAC. Just recruit well above your competition, and you will be able to out-athlete most of your conference mates.
  8. Did we build the IPF DIRECTLY over the Indian burial ground?? Let's just run a wildcat with Horn and Battie for the rest of the season.
  9. You're right. That doesn't take transfers into account. We should probably instead look at the 2022 ranking, seeing how 247 does include transfer in their rankings and stuff. I bet we did way better that year since, oh wait... Nope. Still ****. Start worrying.
  10. This is the most worrying thing about maintaining this regime. We are ranked near the bottom of the conference in terms of recruiting right now - worse than Temple for God's sake. You might ask "who would want to play for a losing team/coach," but Taggart was able to do so and eventually turned the program around as a result of his great recruiting, even when he wasn't winning. Taggart's awesome recruiting maintained hope that the program did have a future after his first two years, but CJS can't seem to generate any sort of success to look forward to. Makes you wonder what is that foundation/culture he keeps referring to, unless it is an uninspiring one.
  11. Wait this can’t be accurate, according to some on this board, VPMK is the only AD with enough God-given prowess to be able to raise money at USF. No way someone else can do it as well.
  12. Unless Selvie, JPP, Mike Jenkins, Ben Moffitt, and Nate Allen found the fountain of youth and more eligibility, the talent on defense is so poor that we should not hold our breaths the rest of this season. CJS needs to overhaul the talent on defense this off season with everything he has.
  13. Sure, but we had to price to pay for hiring a shell of a coach. Not only did he progressively get worse after QF left, but he sounded like a bumbling fool who would put all the blame on his players after every loss. He could not answer a press question clearly to save his life, and constantly throw his players under the bus until they stopped playing for him. It was evident he did not give a **** about the USF program from his crappy recruiting. Whatever happened at Texas, USF paid the price.
  14. Seems like the 2008 team had the most balance. I'm surprised they didn't accomplish more.
  15. At the end of the day it is very simple. Does having Scott as a HC give the fans/players any sense of confidence that we will win any games after 2.5 years? At this point, no. Absolutely not. Are there winning HEAD coaches at the lower levels such as Tyson Helton or Jeff Traylor that would most likely perform better and deserve a shot? Yes. The answer seems very simple. Except other schools like Nebraska and ASU have already gotten a head start on their HC search while we stay praying that one day we will turn a corner with this perennial loser of a coach and recruiter.
