  1. All of this arms race is crazy at every level. I moved to a small NC town and joined the donor's club of a small but well-respected Division II school, Lenoir-Rhyne, with a football stadium that seats about 8,500. They have just announced they about half-way toward their fundraising goal to renovate the stadium to include all new facilities, including luxury suites and a VIP donor lounge. Among the rationale for the upgrade was that they have said they want to be ready if they decide to "move up." Is that Bowlsby on the line?
  2. Saw that also and chuckled. I'm pretty sure he spent more time there than in USF classes.
  3. Whatever works. Digital is the way of the world but, IMO, it has made most things more, not less complicated. I also noticed me and and a whole bunch of other folks got into that game just fine with paper tickets.
  4. True enough. Altruism is a rational construct used to sort certain acts into "good" and "bad" baskets in our minds when, in actuality, motives and actions are seldom so black and white. History decides and history is usually wrong, too.
  5. BTW, in answer to that GEICO commercial about printing paper boarding passes, I am with those people. So much easier. And I could only wish turn into my parents. They were smart, industrious and successful in every way that really counts. Miss them so much every day.
  6. If I were you I would download to your wallet just for ease and safety. My app kept losing contact to my tix and when I went on it would log in like it is supposed to but say I had no ticket purchases. I checked with Bulls ticket staff and they were at a loss to explain the problem. I had to remove and reload the app several times to be able to access my tix so I downloaded to the wallet just to be sure as a backup.
  7. Let's Zoolander that bad boy! I give you the Holtz New Era - Finished Strong Stadium for Kids Who Can't Play Good. We can all get on the tiny little bus to get there.
  8. If you're thinking of replacing Jeff and Brad don't forget us. null
  9. Let's wait until Skip and Jim meet again in a couple weeks and then we can decide which to bring back.
  10. Skip had an epic collapse followed by oh-so-near Miss (State) last week and Jim's crew manhandled an outclassed opponent. For all those who follow their exes on social media, it will be interesting to see how they fare in this battle in a couple weeks.
  11. Oh, I didn't have warm and fuzzy feeling about the D either. I just expected so much worse.
  12. I had posted this same clip earlier. Not that we have a whole lot to laugh about but I almost fell over the first time I saw this. It says it all for poor UConn and its former head coach.
  13. Although it is tough to find any lining of silver after that shellacking in Raleigh, I actually thought the defense played better than I expected. If we had eliminated the turnovers it would have looked a lot different but it is what it was. I am hoping we can move the offense forward without scrapping everything but we really have to find a way to get some running attack. Until then, I don't think any QB is going to thrive or even be relatively safe.
  14. Oh good. Bulletin board material, too. Maybe we'll have a snowstorm to even our chances. null
  15. Certainly true enough in this case. But Harlan was just such a bad guy on top of it.
  16. Boy, I really miss the days when you could just bring a chicken or a goat and trade it for a ticket to the Colosseum.
  17. UConn says football coach Randy Edsall to step down immediately, instead of at season's end UConn announced Monday that football coach Randy Edsall will step down immediately, instead of waiting until the end of the season to retire.
  18. As a USF-FSU grad I watched that game with much interest. I am definitely pulling for MM but I cringe every time he takes off running. As for Cade, I thought he looked terrible to start but settled down later. While not great, I am not ready to throw in the towel on him yet.
  19. To name a few: EmPHASis on women's sports. We can be the Title IX champions and I have a volleyball-playing daughter I would love to recoup some of that donor money. Rebuild men's basketball program (but maybe not from scratch every other year). Follow Boise State example with a new field in team colors. How cool would it be to play on green turf! Oh wait....
  20. 1) The winning team - USF2) The final score - 47-133) Bulls leading rusher - Battie4) Bulls leading receiver - Weaver 5) Bulls total offensive yards - 231 Goal is to have less USF players and fans drop from heat stroke than that 2010 fiasco in the Swamp. If I even make it I am not sure I will leave the lounge.
