  1. This was a Harlan initiative and there was much angst and great consternation among staff and the Bulls Club Board at the time. Even though it adversely affected me, at the time I thought it was the right move to incentivize new bigger donors and lower overall ticket prices (one of the few things I ever agreed with MH about). I did, however, think they utilized a rather sledgehammer approach and, unfortunately, our on-field performance soon plummeted, which pretty much wiped out any advantage which might have been gained.
  2. Believe me, in my younger, saltier USF fan days if I was displeased with Coaching they would know it. A big booster friend of mine asked me at the end of one of my colorful language tirades if I really thought they could hear me down on the field. The following week he was on the sidelines. He came back to me afterward and apologized saying "Yes, they can hear you!" Still, I never boo the players. It would be like booing my daughter at one of her games if I felt she didn't make the right play or give the proper effort.
  3. Interesting. Tennessee is number 1 for the fans being too passionate and we are number 2 for not giving a #$&%!
  4. Thought he was a knee jerk hire as the U's head coach but he has proven his worth as a DC, even at Middle Tennessee and La Tech. He would definitely be an upgrade for USF if he were interested.
  5. Thanks for the sentiments. The doctor did tell me to eat a heart healthy diet, take my medicine on time and avoid caffeine and watching watching football of my two alma maters, USF and FSU.
  6. NEB, I think it is a safe bet we won't lose by just one...
  7. I graduated so long ago it seems that we drank in speakeasies. But the good news was that the drinking age was 18 back then so I was legal even in high school. Since the drinking age was raised there were so many that closed and so many I have long forgotten. But some of them were Coppertop, the Greenery, the Proud Lion Pub and, when I wanted to rock, the Agora Ballroom.
  8. If this happened it is despicable. I get as frustrated as anyone but I don't ever get that upset.
  9. Rick, some of us just don't know anything else or when and how to get out. I call it BFS: Battered Fan Syndrome.
  10. When you need conversions late the coaches have got to find a way to allow their mobile QB to make plays.
  11. I expect Coach O to take a broadcasting job translating the play-by-play for Cajun fans.
  12. I should have stayed in where they have the equipment they used to shock my heart medically, not fan-wise. No one can say we don't have tradition at USF. It seems no one can top us and in finding more ways to lose and come from ahead end of the game losses (although it appears all the college teams in Florida have forgotten how to play this game; even our flag bearer West Florida lost this weekend). Oh well, I'll still keep rooting and supporting them emotionally and financially. Over the last 50 years it has gone from habit to addiction. If I recover sufficiently and am above ground, I still intend to use my tickets for the next leg of the Bulls' North Carolina tour. And there is always basketball season. Go Bulls!
  13. The delivery system sure does though. With my feet growing and my schmekel shrinking it's a wonder I can keep my toes dry.
  14. Sad. I think the same thing happened to the urinal cake with my picture on it. Anyway, as a former longtime Iron Bull I recommend it to anyone who can swing it. Met a really great group of folks and had some wonderful experiences linked to the group. And, of course, it really helps the cause.
  15. I was told you have to have season tix, which I no longer do. I just think it could be coordinated to provide access for donors at whatever is the minimum level established. That said, I'm pretty much ready to move on.
  16. To put them off their game I think our team should go ring the doorbells of all their players and coaches really, really early Saturday morning.
  17. While entry into the Club Lounge is a nice perk, it is more how it is being handled that bugs me. I'm a donor and was, until recently moving out of state, a multi-sport season ticket holder. I have also worked actively in the Bulls Club and USF general fundraising. Yet somehow I could not arrange club access at the UF game on tickets in the Club section purchased through the school for well over $100. With all the high-tech digital tix they couldn't coordinate that little perk? Oh well.
  18. What I was trying to say was that with a team as bad as USF was I thought he felt he had to do too much and was not up to the task. Also, his life was at risk on just about every play.
  19. Precisely. This is sort of what classifies as "the Good Old Days" that so many are pining for. Just magnifies how bleak the current situation is.
  20. Yep. Though I thought he was woefully overmatched at USF, I hope he has great success and wish him all the best.
  21. 1.) BYU 2.) 10-43 3.) Battie 4.) Weaver (or whomever can catch the ball) 5.) 287
