  1. @McMurphyESPN3 minutes ago Florida will build $15 million indoor practice facility; to be completed by September
  2. Really? It's a positive that one team from the conference finished the season at #25? Never thought it would come to this, but man do I miss the Big East. While we were in the conference, the Big East had multiple top 10 and a few top 5 finishes.
  3. USF's best case scenario is going back to the spread, recruiting athletes that just missed the cut at the Big 3 schools, and winning 9 or 10 games every few years. Basically the ceiling is the same or a little higher than the later Leavitt years because we're in a much weaker conference than the Big East.
  4. That article is from January 2014.
  5. There's no reason for Go5 teams to build new stadiums at this time. The P5 is doing all it can to widen the gap, and it's only going to get worse for the little guys. From a funding standpoint, if private donors want to completely fund the project then build it, but don't tax the students or community. Student activity fees are already too high.
  6. Modest deal. @McMurphyESPN: Ohio State OC Tom Herman gets 5-year deal worth $6.75M at Houston, source told @ESPN
  7. Just posted this in the Houston thread on the AAC section: @BruceFeldmanCFB BREAKING #OhioState OC Tom Herman is expected to become the new head coach at #Houston, source told @FoxSports.

  9. How far have we fallen? If Skip Holtz were still at ECU he wouldn't leave for the USF job.
  10. Two or three-year contract, as OC and Asst HC? What happens if Taggart is fired? The new HC will pick his own coordinators. Then we're stuck with the bill for 1-2 more years for fired assistants.
  11. I was just telling my friend this should happen last night. It would also give the G5 a chance to cause some ruckus. Which we all enjoy. This makes the most sense to G5 schools, but if you're the P5 why would you give the G5 an auto-bid? They don't want to give #20 Boise a chance of knocking off #1 Alabama, or #3 FSU if the first 2 seeds get byes. I think if the playoffs expand to 8 then we will see each P5 school get an auto-bid, with 3 at large teams. If a G5 team finishes in the top 8 then they deserve to be included as an at-large, but a team like Boise that is not close to the top 8 doesn't deserve a bid.
  12. I think this is the key point. We'll be able to find guys who are out of a job to fill the positions, but will any GOOD coaches come on board knowing that Taggart might be out after next season? Sure, multi-year contracts will entice a lot of coaches, but I can't see Harlan handing those deals out.
  13. I still don't understand why a lot of these QBs would want to go to a P5 school and sit behind multiple talented QBs for years hoping for a shot when they can go to a school like USF and start for 4 years. Here's hoping Kean sticks and we pick up Lawson.
  14. Agreed. This is the kind of thing that leads to USF just shutting down the school. Could there be another JD Alexander situation where the medical school is taken away? Possibly gifted to a "flagship" institution like UF or FSU? Or... gasp... Florida Polytech!
  15. USF trustees vote unanimously to build medical school at Channelside http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/usf-trustees-set-to-vote-on-downtown-medical-school-option/2208895
  16. Stay at USF until you're fired. Collect the check and then go be the OC at Michigan or somewhere else.
  17. Reading the UAB news definitely got me thinking about USF's situation. If USF continues to lose support and games, would fans or administrators start to talk about shutting down the football program? If we continue this trend for 5+ more years I wouldn't be opposed to it. Give the athletics fees back to the students and focus on academics, with basketball being the primary sport.
  18. Dont waste your time as this is just a pipe dream. USF would have a better chance at getting Doc Holliday from Marshall than to get Bo Pelini Why would Holliday leave Marshall for USF? He is looking to move up, not laterally.
  19. $3 million per year for a first time head coach? Willie is making less than half that. If Willie is fired/leaves we will be scraping the bottom of the barrel for our next coach. http://www.si.com/college-football/2014/11/27/smu-mustangs-chad-morris-clemson-head-coach
  20. Section 125 row M for $25 (face value). PM me if interested.
