  1. I will be fortunate enough to be attending this game at Gampel Pavilion, any other Bulls planning on being there? I think we have a chance to keep this close and possibly pull off the tremendous upset. At worst I'm thinking a 15 point loss. Lets hope my optimism isn't misplaced.
  2. You can buy them on Ticketmaster for $30 each, at least as of yesterday you could. I landed some pretty decent seats when I saw that there weren't any available on here or in the secondary market.
  3. I loved the passion and excitement I saw on the sideline after the final drive against SMU. That is the type of finish that can galvanize the locker room. Look for much more effort out there against Memphis as the team embraces White as the leader and rallies behind him. I'm not saying that we will win, but I expect that a lot of those dropped passes from earlier in the year don't occur on Saturday. Keeping the faith that we can run two upsets and get some much needed bowl preparation practices!
  4. My bold prediction for this season is a 17-14 record! Can't wait to see the Running Bulls!
  5. Guys, we are a hair away from having a pretty **** competitive team. We need some more maturity on the defensive side and we need a dynamic/play making QB and this team is going to start to rip through the AAC. I haven't given up on 2014, but I am very excited for 2015.
  6. That's a really tough call but I'd hardly describe that as "draconian". Maybe they could put something out about suggesting potential donors putting together different groups to up the giving level if they really can't afford it but I don't think it would be advantageous for the BC to be the one spending time matchmaking. The whole idea of the different perks for different levels is to encourage someone maybe giving a little more than they had originally planned to get an extra perk. Maybe draconian was the wrong adjective...inflexible would be better. Listen, I agree that there needs to be greater benefits for larger donations, but, at this critical juncture in our program's history, we need to be thinking outside of the box and targeting every cent we can get our hands on. If that means "grouping" individuals to get them in better seats while maybe rolling back the benefits, so be it. What would be the harm in creating subcategories of donors at this point in order to widen the base? We are losing donors at a rapid pace and I fear for the future of our program. While other universities are going to see their budgets expanding (rapidly at that) we cannot afford to see our's contract.
  7. Plenty of talent being left doesn't equate to on-field success. First, if we are being honest, our talent level was probably at an 8 year low. Second, the coaches use different schemes and philosophies, so just because a guy is talented and has the skill set to thrive in Holt's offense doesn't mean that it will translate well to what CWT is trying to accomplish.
  8. No, I meant that if you burn the redshirt now you are essentially sacrificing their (rs) senior season. We are on the same page.
  9. That was an amazing trip (even if the outcome of the game wasn't the greatest). Certainly the "Glory Years" of USF Football. I was shying away from posting on the board due to all of the overreacting/bandwagon posters that we accumulated in recent years. It was getting to the point where you couldn't have a constructive conversation as all of the realistic and intelligent comments were being drowned out by the cries of lunacy. I have been lurking and reading the posts pretty much the entire time. I feel that the board is at the point now where the dialogue is much more constructive than it was 2 or 3 years ago, so hopefully I can add my two cents to the discussion every now and then.
  10. I think a lot goes into the decision to burn a player's redshirt that many might not be taking into consideration. Is the player ready now? Does he make the team better? How much better does he make the team? Will that equate to more wins? Is he more valuable now to the team than he would be 4 years from now? The way that you have to look at a redshirt is that the player is giving up his Senior season. If Flowers is the type of freakish athlete who is good enough to play now, how freakishly good might he be if he continues to progress into his 5th year in the system? I just don't think we have enough complimentary parts ready to go right now to justify burning his redshirt. I could be totally wrong on this, but I think with the recruiting class we brought him in with that he will be far more valuable to us in 2018.
  11. Cousin Ricky and his lovely wife bleed Green and Gold. Definitely two of the most ardent USF supporters I have been blessed to encounter over the years. Thank you for your contribution!
  12. I have a co-worker who used to be a Green Jacket donor and season ticket holder for football. He was in a group of 4 couples and they split the cost of the donation and the 8 season tickets. The group disbanded and he contacted the Bulls Club about the possibility of getting only two season tickets with club access with a $250 donation. He was told no. He is no longer a season ticket holder as he is an older gentleman and really needs access to the club prior to the game and at halftime. It is a shame given our current situation that the Bulls Club is not thinking outside of the box on this one. I'm sure he is not alone in his situation. So let's say that you don't want to "cheapen" your donor levels, then the Bulls Club should simply seek 4 groups of 2 or 2 groups of 4 and put them together for the purposes of club donations/season tickets. What would be the harm in that? In my opinion, our program is falling way behind financially and their draconian rules will not make matters any better.
  13. I want the QB that gives us the best chance to win in the game until the possibility of a bowl game is out of the question. Then you start looking to the future and that might be White.
  14. I'm taking an optimistic mindset as we enter this game on Saturday. We literally have nothing to lose. If we get blown out, it was expected. The players looked tight and out of sorts against McNeese and I expect them to play loose and have fun on Saturday. Floyd looked lost, confused, and scared out there, while Eveld came in and looked composed. Whether it is Eveld or Bench starting, I think we can go out and compete in this one. We almost assuredly will not win, but I could see us keeping it within 10 to 20 points. So long as we continue to grow and improve from week-to-week this season can still be a success.
  15. BJ just had some much needed practice on the victory formation. Didn't get to run it much, if at all, the last two years under Holtz. Way to go BJ. Represent USF!!!!
  16. I have a very inside perspective on how all of this goes down. Not me personally, but people I know are in the industry. They arrange to meet with the player, usually at a hotel or something, and then they have them sign HUNDREDS of items. They do not pay the player directly for anything, but they do happen to pay a family member or close friend a few thousand dollars. The NCAA is caught between a rock and a hard place on this issue. The media attacked Manziel because he has been fighting with the media. Now, with the reports of all the other players involved, of which I can confirm at least 3 who have done the same thing, the NCAA cannot afford to lose all of their star players to this meaningless scandal. Let's be realistic, it isn't really that big of a deal and it is being blown way out of proportion. At the end of the day I expect it all to die down and go away.
  17. That's fine. It isn't that I am new to the board, it is simply that prior to the last few months there wasn't quite the degree of hostility and personal attacks flooding and taking over just about every topic. It is the same 4 or 5 offenders every time. I'm not looking for true censorship, just some semblance of a connection between the original topic and the posts. As for Dyer, it will be interesting to see what happens with him. You would think he wouldn't want to waste another minute and would need to be learning the offense already. I know he has a proven track record, but the sooner he lands somewhere the better. It leads me to believe that he is quietly awaiting acceptance somewhere (U of L or USF) in order not to alienate the other borderline offers he had on the table (WKU).
  18. What would be nice is if a moderator would delete posts by users that are nothing more than personal attacks and have absolutely nothing to do with the topic of the thread. I love the fact that there are more Bulls fans on here than ever before, but these boards have become increasingly uncivilized and sophomoric. It gets really annoying when you log on hoping to see updated news on a topic and instead you are greeted with an internet pissing match.
  19. Yes, Nick Satan was crying, except he was absolutely wrong and ignorant about the facts. At the time the fact was that the SEC allowed teams to take a certain number of partial qualifiers, while the Big East did not. Satan told the media the opposite and those lemmings ran with the story without doing their homework.
  20. Don't really see any basis for that claims. The accusation reminds me of the fact that you can go to a fan board for every single team of every single sport and find a certain percentage of people that are convinced the media hates their team. There is definitely anecdotal evidence to suggest this happens, and, when you think about it, it makes sense. These sites are driven by subscriber payments. If you have a large subscriber base you want to make them happy. How do you do that? Well, one way is to over-evaluate some of the kids they are bringing in. If USF fans had a choice between two recruiting services and one was constantly lauding our recruits and giving them higher rankings, I would imagine most casual fans would choose that service over the one that was being completely objective.
  21. I have decided to drop the price on these tickets to $250 each. Please let me know if you are interested.
  22. I know it isn't USF related, but I have 4 tickets and two parking passes to the Rays v. Yankees game at The Trop on Friday, May 24, 2013. I cannot go as I will be traveling, so I thought I would offer them on here. I am selling them for the face value of $300 per ticket. They are in Section 103 Row G. They include all you can eat and drink. I'm willing to split them into two's with one parking pass each. These are the big, comfy seats behind home plate with the waitress service. You also get access to The Hancock Bank Club for pre-game dining as well. They aren't cheap, but they are definitely worth the experience.
  23. Wow....potentially exciting news. Who would have thunk it? Seriously though, I hope we land him. We absolutely need a QB for the next two years. Hopefully all the Trickett haters watched our Spring game and welcome him with open arms if he decides to come play for us.
  24. 26-1 over the last 27 games for the softbull team....very impressive. Let's see what they can do against the Gators on Wednesday. Will be a barometer of where we stand.
