  1. I actually like the way the red on the leg looks like a sword and think the helmets look pretty cool too. I wouldn't mind a chromed out silver helmet with a metallic iconic U on it.
  2. A quick UCF synopsis would be nice.. I knew members at the law firm that represented the Plancher family. I really can't divulge more than that.
  3. It wouldn't be an easy case to defend if it can be shown that ESPN interfered with existing contractual relationships in the Big East. Additionally, the resulting damages of losing TCU and WVU could be attributed to the tortious interference. If this was put in front of the right Federal Court judge the Big East would have a decent case, IMO. Wouldn't this depend on if there was a clause in the contract to not talk to other conferences about changing membership, which certainly there must not have been? Not to mention that each team has negotiated a buyout so that takes care of the contractual relationship. Below are the generally recognized elements of tortious interference. While there might be contractual terms that prevent the conference from suing a member for breach of contract, this deals with a third party (ESPN) asserting undue influence in an attempt to interfere with the existing business relationship to the detriment of the Big East and for their own pecuniary gain. The existence of a contractual relationship or beneficial business relationship between two parties. Knowledge of that relationship by a third party. Intent of the third party to induce a party to the relationship to breach the relationship. Lack of any privilege on the part of the third party to induce such a breach. The contractual relationship is breached. Damage to the party against whom the breach occurs.
  4. In this electronic age, unless ESPN was communicating via courier pigeons there will be a paper-trail. You want to see a University President or AD squirm....just set them for deposition. I have insight into the Plancher v. UCF case and I know all about the athletic department depos and what transpired. A capable attorney will get the information out of them.

  6. I am willing to bet it wouldn't be a waste of time. And, quite frankly, who cares if it looks like sour grapes. ESPN has been the one reporting the demise of the Big East. Then they create the conditions to bring about that demise. It is called a self-fulfilling prophecy and further proves the undue influence ESPN has had in this entire process. If PITT and Cuse were still in the Big East, TCU and WVU most likely would have stayed as well. Add in Boise State and our conference would be ahead of the ACC in football. The problem was that ESPN already had the ACC locked into a contract and didn't want the Big East to get any more powerful before contract negotiations, so they crippled the conference.
  7. If contact negotiations end up falling through between the Big East and ESPN, I would love to see the brass in Providence sack up and file a Tortious Interference suit against ESPN. Based upon everything that we have seen and heard, I feel pretty confident that the Big East would prevail in a suit against ESPN. From the poaching of Pitt and Syracuse by the ACC (ESPN's involvement has already been alluded to by Boston College reps) to the defection of Notre Dame, ESPN seemingly has their fingerprints all over these moves. At the very least, the discovery process would be very interesting and would shed light on how all of this maneuvering went down.
  8. There isn't a large enough sample size at this point. Not many teams in the nation have a "quality" road win. Like the others have said, until you have a large enough sample size, the numbers will be skewed.
  9. For those that don't yet have their tickets to the game or if you have friends who want to go, Living Social is offering 2 tickets for $30 to the Rutgers game. See the link below. http://www.livingsocial.com/cities/1845/deals/459990-usf-vs-rutgers-on-september-13-two-tickets
  10. Just an observation, but 8 of the 12 teams that will be playing football in the Big East next season are receiving votes in this year's preseason Top 25.
  11. All, Does anyone know how I go about donating tickets to the Boys and Girls Club? We have 8 season tickets (me and my 2 friends) and a lot of the time we have extra tickets. I would much rather give it to them vs trying to sell on the street (especially since you have the middlemen who buy it up and add a fee to resell it). Thx jonpfl The Boy and Girls Club is one way to go. I actually donated mine in the past to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Tampa. My contact there is Bonnie Mangione and her email is bonnie.mangione@bbbsfl.org . I believe you might even be able to get a tax deduction for the donation, but either way it is a great cause and a good way to create young Bull fans.
  12. I think someone needs to forward John Lewis the picture that I posted and inquire why group tickets are being sold for this game (the vast majority of which are going to FSU fans) in a USF donor section. That is the real issue here. Also, why would they be selling these pretty decent seats to groups before season ticket holders? Whatever happened to taking care of those that take care of you? It is almost a no-brainer to a scalper to buy 20 of these tickets at $80 each. They are going to be able to easily sell them for $100+ each and could easily get $15 each for the extra game.
  13. Let me clarify the FSU group ticket issue that has been discussed. I have a close friend who purchased over 50. They went for $80 each and included ANY additional game for this season, not just UT Chattanooga. His group opted to go with the UCONN game as FSU has a bye that week. They are a group of Tampa Noles, and a lot of them are actually planning on attending the UCONN game. With that being said, this was a horrible idea by our ticket department. First, the right of first refusal should have been given to existing season tickets holders. Then, and only then, they should have just forced the FSU fans to purchase season tickets or upper bowl seats. The lower bowl is going to be full of Noles now, especially in the corners of the endzones.
  14. I'm most excited about JoJo Kemp so far. He has the physical tools to step in and be a contributor from day one. His physical makeup as a 17 year old is insane. Imagine if he grows another inch or two and adds 10 to 15 pounds of muscle. This kid is going to be an absolute beast and could leave USF with all the career rushing records.
  15. It can actually be any other game on the home schedule I believe. My buddy bought 50 and he also bought the UCONN game. Look for a lot of Tampa FSU groups to be doing that same thing as the UCONN game is on a date that FSU doesn't play.
  16. My buddy, a filthy Nole, just received his 50 tickets for the game in Section 232. Apparently, they are making you buy a ticket to another game this season to get them in the group packages. The tickets came to $80 for both games.
  17. Doesn't matter, JD Alexander is already working on a bill to have the Sun Dome relocated to Lakeland so that the Florida Polytechnic University Fightin' Alexanders can play there.
  18. I agree that it is an excellent and reqarding program. For those on the fence, also keep this in mind: You earn .1 Priority Point for every season ticket used, so donating them and knowing they will be used is much better than letting them go to waste.
  19. Hello Everyone, I volunteer with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. It is an excellent program in which individuals are matched up with an underprivileged, one parent child and help them through life. I'm writing this because the program relies heavily upon donations for activities for "Bigs" to do with their "Littles." If you have extra tickets to the games that you know in advance that you are not going to use I would highly encourage you to contact Bonnie Mangione at Bonnie.Mangione@bbbs.org and let her know Brian Motroni referred you and you have some tickets that you would like to donate. I can assure you that they will be appreciated and will get used. The Bigs do not receive any sort of financial assistance, so it is nice to occasionally have a free event that we can do with the Littles. I'm taking my Little to his first ever football game of any sort this Saturday and cannot wait to see the excitement on his face as he witnesses our Bulls in action and I get to take him up to the nice Club Level. This is how Bulls fans are created at a young age. Also, if you have the time and energy and are interested in becoming a Big, feel free to email Bonnie and she will provide you the details. It is an extremely rewarding program as you take an active role in the life of a youngster who might otherwise not have any sort of parental support in his or her life.
  20. I am guessing (and yes, merely guessing) that Matt was given a Notice to Appear in lieu of arrest. Police have the discretion to do this when a misdemeanor is involved. If that is in fact the case, it would explain the lack of an arrest record.
  21. Mike Ford will be the strting RB next season. Leavitt saying he has a ways to go is just to keep him motivated, focused, and busting his ass this off-season. Remember, Leavitt made Grothe "earn it" last year by letting Julmiste go out and suck it up for a half against McNeese St. I would imagine that he doesn't make the same mistake again and will go with the most talented players, not just the most experienced.
  22. My plans are not definitely set yet. We will probably be driving up there and may bring my sister-in-law and her boyfriend with us. If that falls through, or if Southwest comes through with a great DING, we might fly into Birmingham and drive the two hours to Auburn. Either way, we will try and meet up with you and the rest of the RR crew.
