  1. Ricky, Feeling uncomfortable and being murdered/shot/stabbed are two different things. If there were a string of violent crimes and murders at University Mall, I would certainly hope the community, USF included, would speak out on the issue and the need to improve things. I would also hope that USF would have the safety and best interests of its student body in mind and would issue a safety notice/warning/advisory. If you are taking issue with "banning" players from Ybor, I can understand that to a certain degree. Taggart was speaking emotionally and was put on the spot during a telephone interview. The perfect answer would have been that he was going to use this as a painful and powerful teaching moment for his players and advise them on making smart decisions as to where they go, who they associate with, and how they react to certain situations. However, I completely understand the emotion and passion that came into play. The perfect answer for Harlan would have been much different than how it appears he handled the situation. Likewise, Gonzmart could have approached it in a better manner than tweeting his displeasure on social media. He is too connected to USF athletics and has too much power to stoop to that level. If you have a problem in your family you solve it within your family, not publicly. Ultimately, I hope this is something that serves as a learning moment for ALL parties involved; players, staff, coaches, ADs, and donors. I also hope it blows over and doesn't remain a story or distraction any longer than today. We have a pretty **** big football game coming up on Saturday that I want us to win!
  2. Other than the UCiF game, there really isn't much of a surprise in those results. Duke is far better than Tulane, SMU was lucky to keep it respectable for about a half or so, and UCONN was actually a 7 point home underdog on most betting sites for that game. We are however a weak conference, but I don't think the results so far are all that surprising.
  3. Fellas, fellas, fellas....can we please get back to what is important here, UCiF lost FIU. On second thought, FIU beat UCiF. I'm really torn, I don't know which sounds better.
  4. Congrats to FIU. Just looked like the better team tonight. This is a lesson to never put up a boasting/rivalry billboard in Tampa again!
  5. A blowout of a I-AA team followed by a 17-7 win over the University of Tallahassee....I like where your head is at Brad!
  6. 1) The winning team - USF 2) The final score - 41-10 3) Bulls leading rusher - Mack 4) Bulls leading receiver - Bronson 5) Bulls total offensive yards - 492
  7. I am friends with his sister. I don't think he is seriously considering USF. That could change dramatically depending on how his senior season goes. If UF offers he accepts in a millisecond. He definitely wants to play for one of the P5. He would be a great get for us, very nice kid with a good head on his shoulders.
  8. I think that a year of scheming and practice will make a difference. Just because they installed some looks to play into QF's skill set doesn't mean that those plays were properly executed by the players in the game. I think everyone just needs to take a deep breath and see what happens. If QF is not the answer at all, we will know by the end of week 4. I think even the most optimistic among us hope to be 2-2 after the first four, so even if we are 1-3, all is not lost.
  9. Special plays as in 1) snap ball to Blackwell 2) hand off to Andre Hall 3) snap ball to Grothe 4) snap ball to Daniels I was thinking more like well timed backward laterals, reverses, fake reverses, flea-flickers and the like.
  10. Flowers doesn't have to be a "great" QB to shine in this system. I think everyone can agree that he has raw athleticism that should translate well on the field. The most important factor will be the play calling. Can these coaches put our players in a position to succeed? That has been part of the problem the last few seasons. I am hoping that our coaching staff has improved as much as our play on the field. I am quietly optimistic about this season. I think our defense is going to shine and produce more turnovers. I hope our offense can move the ball consistently and cut down on stupid mistakes. Finally, I hope the coaches can find a way to get creative and get the ball into our most athletic play makers hands in spots where they can make something happen. CJL always had a knack for calling a few special plays in big games that could potentially keep us in it.
  11. This is how great PROGRAMS are built. This is how you build a sense of tradition and family with recruits/players. I hope it is a continuing trend for us as the first wave of "great" Bulls football players begin to look for second careers.
  12. I will try and make an educated guess. Our last two home openers had announced attendance of 35,470 (McNeese St - 2013) and 31,642 (Western Carolina - 2014). The trend has definitely been downward, but I imagine that the draw of the FAMU band will be good enough to keep the numbers respectable. We have played them twice before. The first being the home opener in 2005 and that game drew an announced crowd of 43,122. We played them again in 2011, drawing an announced 50,128, but it's worth noting that it was the third game of the season after we had beaten Notre Dame and we were ranked #20 in the country. The other big factor is whether or not they will open one side of the upper deck for this game if ticket sales go well. If they do not, then the maximum the attendance could be is 41,441. Based upon all of this, I will go ahead and say we get an announced crowd of 38,650.
  13. medical bills sustained in an accident are never paid for by the state. theyre either paid by the persons health insurance, or medical coverage on their auto policy. and if it is their health insurance that pays, it can't be a state funded medical plan. medicare/medicaid doesnt pays for injuries resulting from an auto accident. First and foremost let me wish BB a speedy recovery and I hope they attain their goal to help him with his bills. Without hijacking the thread, I wanted to correct the statement above. Medicaid and Medicare can in fact pay for auto accident related injuries. The primary source of payment is PIP coverage that pays at 80% up to $10,000. The secondary form of coverage is then health insurance, whether private or public. If there is a recovery from an auto insurance policy under either Bodily Injury Liability coverage or Uninsured/Under Insured Motorist coverage, then the public health insurance (Medicaid and Medicare) have a statutory right to reimbursement (subrogation) and virtually all private health insurance plans now have a right to subrogate as well (either through ERISA or by the terms of the health insurance contract). Frequently, when there is a traumatic accident such as BB's a case worker from the hospital will try and retroactively qualify the patient for Medicaid, although if you have any sort of gainful, full time employment, you are unlikely to qualify. The real issue here would be the aftercare required once he is discharged from the hospital. Even if he were Medicaid eligible, some of the services that he might require to make a full recovery might not be covered under the plan. "If there is a recovery from an auto insurance policy" .....there's the problem, HE was at fault, therefore BI nor UM would ever factor in to begin with. You are still incorrect no matter how you try to selectively quote my reply. Medicaid and Medicare will pay motor vehicle accident related expenses regardless of whether or not someone was at fault. In the event they are not at fault and a recovery is made against auto insurance, than and only then do they have a right to be paid back. Your original misstatement that I was correcting was when you stated that Medicaid and Medicare could never be used to pay for accident related expense which is patently false.

  15. This is going to come down to whether Trey Valentine can pull it off or not. Does anyone know if they do half points or do they playoff until there is a clear winner?
  16. We have a real fighting chance in this. We are fricked in the Fricker match, but we could easily bounce back in the others. Let's Go Bulls!
  17. We are making a little push and those around us have faltered now tied for 6th and 6 strokes clear of Georgia Tech.
  18. That is A LOT of golf in one week. In order to win the Championship, the team will essentially have to play 126 holes of competitive golf over 6 days. That will be grueling indeed in the Florida heat.
  19. The lead is up to 13 strokes. Things looking really good for this squad. We might have a realistic chance at winning the NCAA Championship!
  20. If Cid can pull out the second set, we will have a chance. About to make it 3-2 with two games possibly going to the start of the third sets. Let's Go Bulls!
  21. It is worth noting that other than Columbia, we were the only other road team/lower seeded team to emerge into the Sweet Sixteen. Nice job Bulls and keep it going!
  22. I actually found the link on Gousfbulls.com It was buried within the link for the "preview" of the tennis match.
  23. We took the doubles point and need to win 3 out of the 6 singles matches to advance. We are currently winning in 4, down in 1, and tied in 1. Below is the live link to follow the action, if you are so inclined. http://www.hokiesports.com/mtennis/live/ncaa/?DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=7700
  24. This just goes to show you how much continuity benefits these programs. You can almost take the Top 25 standings from the end of the year and transpose them on the projected Top 25, which is a far cry from the men's game and their massive season-to-season turnover. Notre Dame likely would have been #2, but their star Jewell Lloyd is actually going pro after her junior year, something that rarely happens in women's hoops.
  25. This is great too as it frees up 2 more scholarships for CJF to go out and bring in some more elite international talent. We should have 4 scholarships available now (these two, plus the two graduating Seniors).
