  1. Like a downtrodden, abused housewife, I find myself coming back for more. Making excuses for my tormentor. Hoping on hope that things will get better. Please USF, do right by me tonight. Begin the healing process and start making up for the last 5 painful seasons.
  2. Old news. QB Mike White granted release from USF scholarship
  3. Welcome to the knee-jerkiest board this side of the Mississippi!
  4. I agree that everyone involved has accountability and responsibility for the debacle at Maryland. I can point to 3 failures to execute by players that resulted in a 21 point swing in the game (14 points off the board, 7 points for Maryland). To say that the coach should take all of the responsibility is silly, just as it is to say that all of the responsibility falls on the players. However, we can't ignore that when the players are put into a position to succeed that they have to make the most of it.
  5. I agree completely it was idiotic. I thought QF was hurt. He should have owned that mistake. However, that decision alone did not decide the outcome of the game. Butch Jones's failure to go for 2 points when up by 12 had a much more direct on the outcome of that game than CWT's brain fart. Right. CWT is blameless. It's all the fault of the 20 year old kids, not the guy that is supposed to be leading them. Where in my response did you read that CWT is blameless?

  7. I really don't think it matters what is said publicly by a coach, and I would be surprised if players really cared unless they were being called out by name. What matters the most is what is said and done behind the scenes with the individual players. How are they being held accountable? How are they being coached? Also, both of Tennessee's losses rest squarely on the coaching staff's shoulders. UT has a 13+ point lead in both games in the 4th quarter and squandered the opportunities. Especially egregious was not going for the 2 point conversion against UF. One would hope that Tags would step up and take the blame if we lost a game due to a tactical decision that was beyond the players' control.
  8. Figured I would update this. As of today, the men's team is ranked #17 (and playing #8 Denver on the road tonight) and the women's team moved up to #18.
  9. I agree we need more bodies, but Guerrero, Da Silva, and Santos have the makings of a serviceable group down low.
  10. except then people whine for the old fans with money to buy more ugly gear. That said, I don't mind the so Flo. It reminds me of the 90s USF colors. It beats a reflective helmet where you can't make out the logo. I could understand an uproar if that became our one and only look, but it is a special occasion, mix it up sort of thing, so no big deal.
  11. I simply was playing on the fact that a lot of the older fans don't seem to like it. I think it looks cool and different.
  12. If our older fans don't like it, it means the kids love it, which is a good thing.
  13. USF continuing to lead the way. The team currently sits at -8, with MSU at +1 and A&M at +2. Much better showing this tournament than the first one of the season. Go Bulls!
  14. I think we can be a Soccer/WBB/Golf/Tennis school. It really is a shame that the revenue generating programs are down right now, because our athletic programs as a whole are performing at such a high level. Here is to hoping that football and MBB catch up with the rest of them.
  15. I know we are in the midst of the madness that accompanies footballs season, but the Men's and Women's FutBulls are killing it on the pitch. The men are 6-2-0 with both losses coming on the road to top 20 teams. They aren't ranked yet (but will likely be ranked tomorrow) but they are an impressive #8 in the RPI. They are set to square off against RPI #7 Denver tomorrow in Denver. The women are 8-1-1 with the tie coming on the road to a top 10 team and the only loss on the road in double OT against another top 20 foe. They just beat the #20 team and conference rival UCONN, and find themselves on top of the American with a 2-0-0 start. They were #24 going into this week and should be even higher. Like the men, the RPI loves this squad and has them as the #7 team in the nation. Both teams are on the road the next week or so, but be sure to get out there and support these programs. Everyone loves a winner and we have two teams playing at a very high level right now.
  16. I definitely see more talent on the field than we have had in quite some time. It is now up to CWT, his staff, and the players to make the most of it. I want to see week-to-week improvement from this team. The bye week came at a perfect time in order to give the coaching staff the opportunity to look back at the first three weeks and go and coach up the players. Make them learn from their mistakes and improve in all facets of the game. I'm optimistic that we can give Memphis all they can handle. I won't go so far as to predict a victory, but I could see us finding a way to win this game if our team can find its identity and limit mistakes on both sides of the ball.
  17. The difference is that these weren't forced errors. I could understand the other team going out and making a play, but these were cases where our players' failure to execute (and partially the ref's) resulted in a pure 21 point swing in that game. I'm not saying that other teams can't point to certain moments in games where these sort of plays happen, but to have 3 such plays go against a team makes it almost impossible to win. Other teams might have a larger margin for error in overcoming those types of mistakes than we do, but the fact is that we don't. Almost half of our roster is composed of true freshman and RS freshmen. We have a young QB that can't be relied upon to make big plays with his arm at this point. We know we have to keep every game within a score or we run the risk of getting blown out. That is our reality right now. The coaching needs to be better and the players need to be better, no way around it.
  18. Your problem, Bausfkid, is that you continue to think that a couple of bonehead plays by USF players has been the difference between winning and losing spectacularly. Sorry to burst your bubble, but different results in those bonehead plays would not have made a significant difference in the outcome. Every team, that's a winner, overcomes those bad plays during the game but USF has not been able to, no matter who the players happen to be. You don't think that Adams' dropped pass, the blown coverage by Abraham before halftime, and the phantom holding call that brought back the Mack TD wouldn't have at the very least altered the game in some way?
  19. There is another thread where it is being predicted that we don't win another game this season, so I'm not too sure about that. You might be trolling, but there are others on here that legitimately believe the stuff they spew.
  20. You are a bunch of knee-jerking fans....Cuse and UCiF are both being put in their places. We looked good in our first half against FSU too.
  21. IIRC, this was the problem with Prado. He would go after highly touted and coveted recruits who would then sign with MLB teams. It seems like Kingston (thus far) has done well in evaluating whether or not players will sign pro deals and targeting the ones on the fringe of acceptable pro contracts. Hopefully the Basebulls continue to build on last years success.
  22. I wonder if we are the school that got declined... Or accepted. Should know soon as the Illinois home / home series starts 2017 and we still have Wisconsin if they didn't cancel, I can't remember... The scheduling requirement mandates that 1 game each year be against a P5 school. Illinois still has an open spot on their schedules in 2017 and 2018 for a P5 OOC game. It is not clear whether or not they requested USF to be a waiver game. They will be playing 9 conference games in 2017 (and likely beyond). We should also be concerned about Wisconsin backing out of the 2019 game, as they already have 2 other home games scheduled for that season. The only saving grace with that one is that it is a labor day weekend game and I would guess that they would like to give their local alums and their fans a chance to go to a game in the Sunshine State and make a long weekend out of it.
  23. The question Chip was asked was, "Why did your team lose 35-17 to a team you should have been able to beat?" Funny, but what was the question that was asked of Tags?
