  1. They are at the Naval Academy afterall....I would be worried if they weren't!
  2. I'm sorry for your loss. I have no problem with the pink, raising awareness, and creating a vibe of support and understanding, I just think the way the pink is incorporated on our particular uniforms looks pretty awful.
  3. At this point, I would take 8-4 no matter how it came about, especially if it meant a win in a bowl game to get to 9-4 on the season. It would suck to lose to an historically bad UCiF team, but the salve of having beaten Temple, Navy, ECU, Cincy, SMU, and our bowl opponent would take away the sting!
  4. I almost think Mississippi State's look better than ours. The pink with the green looks terrible, IMO, they should have gone with pink and white.
  5. Not only will USF win out in the regular season, the team will also knock off Houston in the conference championship game and beat Miami in the St. Pete Bowl, finishing with the program's first 10 win season at 10-3. In the off-season CWT will get a 5 year extension making him the highest paid coach in the AAC. Quinton Flowers will be a dark-horse candidate for the Heisman in 2016, ultimately finishing 3rd in the balloting. Asianti Wollard will move to TE and be our third leading receiver. USF will go undefeated in 2016, including a thrilling double OT victory against FSU. USF will narrowly miss out on the football playoff, but will beat Clemson in the Orange Bowl. USF finishes the season ranked #5 and begins the 2017 season ranked #8. (Disclaimer: I do not think any of the above will actually occur, but I wanted to give the many posters on this board that keep making ridiculous claims that many on the board predicted that USF would win out after FAMU and that CWT would get a contract extension a thread to actually cite when making their pessimistic and spurious claims.)
  6. The easiest role to play is that of the cautious contrarian. You didn't say anything at all in your post and nothing that pretty much everyone on this board has already expressed. Were either of the last two games perfect? No, far from it. Tackling needs to improve, kick return coverage needs to get better, the team needs to get off to better starts, but, despite those issues, we still found a way to win the games. Everyone agrees the betting line is inflated, everyone is hoping to win this weekend, against UCF, and somehow find at least 1 upset in the other 4 games. Enjoy it when the team wins, come back and say I told you so when they lose....ahhhh, the life of the cautious contrarian!
  7. I guess I missed those posts, although I don't think 66-6 is completely out of the realm of possibility, especially with a win over UCONN. We have the talent and we got to see what happens when the stars aligned this week. I'm excited to see how the next two games go for us.
  8. Who exactly are you mocking with this? I haven't read anything with anyone spouting off unrealistic expectations for the rest of the season.
  9. Today marks the 2 year anniversary of our football team's last winning streak, a 13-10 win over none other than UCONN @ Rentschler Field in Connecticut. It marked the second straight victory for the Bulls in which they didn't score a single offensive touchdown, having beaten Cincinnati the week prior 26-20 (1 defensive and 1 special teams TD). Here's to hoping history repeats itself this year and we get a WINNING STREAK, although I would like this year's team to finish much better than the 2013 Bulls!
  10. ESPNews typically runs a 4 pm game. It actually can be a good thing, because if we are still playing when all the 3:30 games end then we might get some extra eyeballs tuned into watch our young team continue to grow (hopefully) and find out what a winning streak is for the first time since October 12, 2013.
  11. I don't recall seeing a lot of people on her claiming that he is an exceptional passing QB, but, just the same, there is more to the game than that. He will never be an exceptional passer. What we need him to be is a good game manager, play maker, and someone who can extend plays with his feet and make good decisions on the fly. That is the part of his game that has improved the most this season. To say he is a "bad QB" is unfair in my opinion, in that it discounts everything else that a QB has to do other than just pass the ball from the pocket. He is definitely a bad passer, but he is a good/serviceable QB, at least as far as what this team currently needs/expects from the position.
  12. He did what he was asked to do and did it well. That led to a 21 point victory (could have been more if they actually tried to score on the final drive) over a Syracuse team that, to this point, has looked decent. I don't know what you were expecting to see on the video, but what I saw was a player who showed poise, made the right decision on option reads, wasn't afraid to take a hit to run for the first down, got screen passes out quickly that allowed players to make plays, and had a few downfield passes that went for completions. He certainly met my expectations for this game. Were you really expecting him to come out and look like a pocket passing, pro-style QB?
  13. It will be a 4 pm kickoff on ESPNews. Will be interesting to see what the attendance will be for that one with a win over UCONN.
  14. UCONN is a run first, TOP, grind you out sort of team. They run the ball a lot, but not for huge gains. They are 117th in the FCS in rush yards per game and are 5th worst (123rd) in average yards per carry. On the flip-side, our rush defense is #28 in the nation, giving up only 119 yards per game. If you back out the monster performance by Dalvin Cook, in our other 4 games we have only given up 319 rushing yards (FSU had 278), which equates to 80 yards per game. If we can score 20+ points, we will undoubtedly beat them. Score our usual 17 and it is likely a toss up. The name of the game in this one will be field position and protecting the ball. I like our chances. I'm going to say USF 24, UCONN 10.
  15. This season is lost as far as ticket sales and attendance goes. I think the high-end expectations for butts in the seats will be 23,000. I agree that if we can make some noise the rest of the season and win a bowl game that ticket sales and attendance will be up next season. It also doesn't help our attendance that both FSU and UF are undefeated. At least when one of them were down the casual sports fan in town might have come to check out the Bulls, but that won't be happening this season.
  16. The best way to thank him is to get out to some of the women's games this year! They should be fun to watch. January 10th looms large!
  17. He has been supporting the program for quite some time now. He was in the luxury box next to mine for more than a few games. IIRC, he is one short dude. No harm, no foul. Let's worry about getting wins.
  18. It was a tough spot for the Bucs. It is hard to get rid of a rookie kicker that you traded for and bring in another unproven rookie in his place. I hope Kloss catches on somewhere, it is so darn tough for kickers to make it and once they do, they never seem to leave.
  19. The game as a whole has changed so much over the past 10 years. Gone are the plodding, power run teams of past. Now, everything is spread out and the rule changes favor offensive production. That is part of the reason how all of this caught up to us. We used to have a definitive speed advantage over almost every team we played, so what we lacked in actual football talent, we were able to overcome with athleticism. Across college football all teams have become more athletic, thus leaving us with a very narrow margin for error on a week-to-week basis.
