  1. I see one possible different interpretation. He wants to come to USF, and since he's still not committed he is still available. Maybe he's looking to see who can get him the best NIL deal? Not saying this is what I believe, but it's another take that might explain the hashtag.
  2. I rely on you to post the good ACC invite news here. Saves me a ton of time.
  3. Sounds like they were raised right. "Success looks easy to those that weren't there while it was being earned."
  4. I haven't posted this one in a while. Thanks for the request Frisco.
  5. Seems like nowadays "next year" will always be a big unknown for most teams. Between NIL deals, the transfer portal, and coaching changes who can even predict what their team will look like. It's kind of a huge, high stakes pick-up game out there. Unfortunately, USF seems like that lonely dude wearing cutoff jean shorts and a baseball cap sitting on the sideline right now. At least we have our coach now. Hopefully, he can get some talent to join the squad. Guess we'll see...
  6. He was way too young... Very sad to hear this news. Just terrible...
  7. Anyone else think this sounds like a simple case of the two parties not being able to agree on the numbers? I sure hope USF made a solid offer, but maybe not?
  8. After the way the Deion non-hiring went I'm sure the athletic department is keeping everything on the down low. Or... just as likely, because it's USF men's hoops, nobody in the sports rumor world noticed (or cared enough).
  9. It was awesome getting to meet the players last night at the Dome. They are all such nice young ladies. If you squint really hard you can see my wife, daughters, father-in-law, and me in the stands cheering during the announcement video of our team. Regardless of our tournament draw, that type of experience is so fun. I'm looking forward to the tournament games and to seeing how these rising sophomores (and any new additions) can do in the next three years.
  10. I have always despised the "Power 5" label. It doesn't even make sense when most of the teams in those conferences are not "power" programs. If and until certain FBS (D1) conferences are officially designated as a separate division or level, "Power 5" is a misnomer at best and is a disrespectful slap in the face to all the other D1 programs in my opinion. Yes, I know about the TV money difference. And that is a huge advantage in most cases. I also understand that there are conferences with stronger programs, but we all knew that before the stupid "Power 5" and "Group of 5" labels infected college football. (We know who pimped tho$e term$ after all and why.) Oh, and my feelings about those labels will not change when USF gets into the ACC (or, sigh, the B12).
  11. Also, if you look back at their schedule and count the number of losses that would likely be wins if they played today, the team is probably looking at a 20+ win season. Don't laugh! Go look at who we lost to and by how many points, and ask yourself if you'd pick today's team to win or lose. Chemistry is important in basketball, and it seems like the team has figured that part out.
  12. Yes, it would be preposterous. More so in my mind because I have never cared about the SEC or Big Whatever conferences. I have always liked the ACC and USF's current conference. Those others don't mean much to me. Guess we'll see what happens...
