I kind of like this thinking. I mean, if college basketball can have success with one-and-done guys, why not a new college football version? I know it's not the same thing because football generally requires full grown men while basketball can be played at a high level by young "kids", but it's a strategy that could work for USF for now. Plus, a certain percentage of those types of recruits may just fall in love with Tampa and USF and decide to stay all four years.

"Golesh 100 percent calls plays" Not sure what this is trying to say. It could mean that he definitely (as in ) calls anywhere from some to all plays. If it said "calls the plays" it would imply he called most or nearly every play. If it said "calls 100 percent of plays" that would be pretty clear, but the way it is written makes me think he typically called some unknown number of the plays which doesn't tell us how much credit he should get for the Tennessee offense this year. I hope he was the main play caller and that his genius translates to USF. Of course, offense wasn't really the issue this year, so all of this nitpicking of some dude's Tweet is probably moot.

According to Google he just got a raise at Tennessee from $750K to $1.2M, so it'd have to be at least that amount, yes?

From the Football Scoop story: "Sanders highly regards and remains in close contact with Willie Simmons, the current Florida A&M head coach who also previously served as head coach at Prairie View A&M and prior to that as Alcorn State’s offensive coordinator. Sources told FootballScoop Sanders is very interested in adding Simmons to his offensive staff." What if (big if) WS was USF's backup pick if DS didn't work out, and DS was equally good with taking the CU or USF job. It is conceivable that DS decided to go with the CU job to (a) make more money and (b) clear the way for his buddy WS to get the USF head coaching job (that is if WS doesn't want to be on DS's staff as a non-head coach). Just a fun theory to ponder now that we are all assuming DS isn't coming to USF.

That flight tracker from Jackson to Boulder kind of sealed it for me, but I suppose private flights can be scheduled "just in case" and then cancelled. Would be freaking hilarious if that happened and Deion pulls the double switcheroo and comes to USF.

Did I miss the official announcement? All I saw in the ESPN story was one source claiming that one recruit supposedly heard from Deion that he was going to Colorado. The stuff about the Colorado "staff preparing" for Deion is probably true. I mean, if they made an offer they would need to start preparing now even if he hasn't accepted. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that USF staff are preparing for Deion's arrival too, but since I have no "sources" I really don't know what to believe anymore. Also, it seems odd to me that this was this dropped so late on a Friday. I guess we'll know what is real and what was pure rumor soon enough...

Obviously, if Deion becomes the next head coach of USF football then he would get to decide who the starting QB is. I highly doubt BB (who I think is awesome) came up during the alleged negotiations.
