  1. Agreed. Our line seemed to be improving, then looked like absolute crap vs. Temple when Jennings went down. Outside of the ECU game, Cincy's defense has been good this year. This will probably be even uglier than the Temple game, if that's even possible.
  2. I'd just pick one with a cool team name Don't forget the Pittsburgh State Gorillas
  3. I'd hate to see us in this same situation in the future where we can't afford to buy out a coach that most of the fan base doesn't want. Who knows, maybe the non-guaranteed, incentive based contract becomes a common thing among G5 teams, and may have to out of necessity.
  4. Hopefully there will be no fully guaranteed contract for the next HC, no matter who it is. Just seems too risky for a school in our situation. Nobody is guaranteed to win here. Modest base pay, heavier on incentives. Hopefully we go that route. Earn your money.
  5. I guess I'm in the same boat. The wife switched cable providers, and I miss many of the games due to the channel line-up she chose, and I never even bothered paying for the extra sports channels. I usually watch the replay on YouTube. I live in Clearwater right near the Courtney Campbell, and have only made it to one game this year (Wisconsin), and have no plans on going to another. In the past I would go to Selmon's, Glory Days, or somewhere else to catch the games, and I don't even bother with that anymore. This is the least interested I've been in USF football. I remember somebody starting a thread at the beginning of last season titled, "The Thrill is Gone". Should have revived that thread to add the last few posts there. Just curious, other than life getting in the way, is it Charlie and the lackluster results that has you not really giving a poop anymore? Is it the G5 thing? I know that somebody here constantly belabors the point that we're in an absolute garbage, meaningless conference....maybe you've finally bought into that? Whatever it is, I can relate to most of the last two posts.
  6. Good point. I'd take the Ws however we can get them. I'd be ok trying with hiring a DC from somewhere....maybe a Manny Diaz-type...if they can win. Sacrificing a little excitement for some Ws works for me.
  7. Probably a combination of having disappointing results in 5 of the past 6 seasons, and the fact the he's probably dealing with a lot of pain from the hip problems. I imagine those things would take their toll on anybody
  8. They might have counted his walk to locker room and back for halftime.
  9. I was surprised that his stats for Temple were as good as they were. 23-38 225 yards, no INTs. Felt like another 100 yard day as I was watching it.
  10. Because when it comes to the need to keep emotions in check, Leavitt is an example that we all know about. He's also right about Leavitt leaving a deep scar on no one but himself (assuming he was actually guilty of what he was accused of).
  11. If Puc sees this, he will compare it to Kerwin Bell's experience at his previous stop. Somebody forward this to MK and see what happens. I think we can afford to pay what you're asking.
  12. Maybe Brad can set up a vote on who TBP wants as coach in 2020 between you and Charlie. I like your chances.
  13. Yep, and if they manage to put together 1 or 2 good seasons, they could cash in on it for years to come, kinda like Charlie and Willie did.
  14. 150K, but heavy on incentives, and you might have a deal.
  15. There might be talent on this forum outside of Ga. How about a guy who can raid the portal to get some p5 talent until the kids can develop. It worked on defense. Do you have any experience?
  16. If the chatter in here is accurate, then yes, we certainly are. Kelly might have to search TheBullsPen for his next HC. I get the feeling that our next coach will be among the lowest paid in the FBS if we buy Charlie out in the coming weeks.
  17. ...or how much cash will be available to pay for the salary of Charlie's replacement & staff? It feels like we're all hoping to bring in some genius Head Coach who's also a recruiting dynamo for 50K a year.
  18. Not sure about Evans, but Rygol was as far as I know. A change needed to be made, and it wasn't. Possible Rygol could have come in and changed nothing, but at least try something other than McCloud, who wasn't getting it done, and was making Snow Angels on the turf all night.
  19. He has one, over Texas Tech in 2017. He also has the record (tied with CWT) for single-season wins at USF with 10 back in 2017, albeit against a ridiculously easy schedule. That seems an eternity ago at this point though. I anticipate him (or is it Bell?) further frustrating the **** out of our fanbase by keeping an ineffective McCloud in for the entirety of the final three games, without ever giving Evans or Rygol a chance, driving away what's left of his supporters.
  20. I know what you're saying, yes we gave up with time left on the clock. It was frustrating to watch, as was the entire game except for maybe one drive.
  21. The one constant with this conference is UConn being where they currently are. Wonder who takes their place next year with them exiting?
  22. He just hired the wrong OC. Hiring Bell going into year 3 turned out to be a bad decision, being that it was going to take 2 or maybe even 3 more years to get everything in place to make that offense fully functional here. The offense has been bad enough at times to bring the morale of the entire team down.
  23. Biggest positive would be that McCloud was sacked 9 times, and his helmet stayed on
  24. 3 yard out was about the only pass play the line would give us time to do
  25. Won't make a difference. McCloud can go 0-20 with 20 INTs, and they won't take him out.
