That's not going to happen.  Aresco wants to separate the AAC from the other G5 conferences.  Agreeing to this would be admitting that we are the same.

I agree with this, but you can't add a play-in game to an 8 team playoff, just make it P5 champs, highest ranked G5 champ, and 2 at large teams

Last year a good San Diego State team lost to South Alabama, they could always trip up to one of their "fairly easy wins".

I disagree.  We are trying to build a perennial top 25 program.  That happens by getting top 25 recruits.  We lose a ton of players this year.  Winning a NY6 bowl game on national TV will have a bigger impact on signing day than a G5 conference championship.

Either way, we can't go NY6 without a conference championship.
