Warren Nolan does a running prediction for each team and USF's current prediction is looking strong:

Predictions
Record 43 - 13
Conf Record 16 - 8

RPI 16
SOS 53

That would guarantee us a spot in the field of 64 and an outside shot of hosting a Regional.

In the NCBWA poll, USF did not crack their top 30. We are once again among those being considered.

Perhaps the lack of respect in the polls will just give our BB team more incentive to just keep on winning.

That would be incrediBULL! The teams we have played so far haven't been great; and we haven't played out of the state of Florida. That's OK though, just like in basketball it la important to rack up wins in OOC. Other teams who look strong in conference are Houston and C. Those should be so fun series'coming up. C. Has only lost to FSU (twice) and UF (once); they even beat UF in one game. What's thoroughly impressive is the pitching. They have a top ten staff according to ERA and the bats have the ability to come alive at any moment. The rankings will come if we perform in conference.

I get that but is there one poll that actually carries any weight?  It seems that baseball has dozens of these and many seem questionable in terms of  legitimacy.

BaseballAmerica is my guess. It's my dad's (he's a former college baseball coach and  MLB scout) go-to baseball publication.

ECU is considered the best team ln.in the AAC, according to all the polls.

Houston was thought to be next best by them, but haven't done as well as expected.

We get to play BOTH of them at home.

So, that should be a distinct advantage.

Of course, we play series against UCF both home and away.

Harvard for 4 next and then 2 good midweek matchups (UNF and then FGCU on the road).  So basically 6 games in 7 days...for a 5 man pitching staff.  Those 2 games will be big.  Not sure how Kingston will handle the pitching.  He has the option of pitching Sanders or McClanahan in one of those games due to FAMU being the opponent the following weekend.  Or it could just be a bullpen type game.  FGCU is probably the best test we'll have since FSU.  Should be interesting.

Bet they ride the same weekend starts and Valdes starts one of the weekday games. FGCU will be a big test, too.

We now sit alone atop the NCAA standings in strikeouts per nine innings! Looking to maintain our dominance on the mound this weekend.

FGCU about to knock off FSU.  They might be the best team in the state.  2 wins vs UF already and one vs the Noles if they can close it out.  They will be a Top 20 team when we play them next week.
