I certainly agree we are in good shape, but the results could have been so much better. They've got to be disappointed in how they finished the day.

I'd far rather birdy the hell out of the course and play the #8 team...

Too bad they don't play golf on paper. LOL

Actually, based on the individual player stats at this tourney, Georgia should have had the best of it, especially since they had the first pick. However, it seems that the actual head to head parings give USF the statistical edge 3-2.

Some more info from the Golf Week Blog:

"Another checkpoint has been cleared.

Eight teams are still standing after four long days here at Concession Golf Club, and six of those eight will be making a return trip to match play. The two newcomers are South Florida and Vanderbilt. Illinois and UCLA, meanwhile, enter match play for the fourth time in the past seven years.

The Bruins are hoping for better results this year. UCLA has yet to advance out of the opening round, going 0-3 in three previous appearances. Illinois is 2-3, advancing to the finals in 2013 at Capital City Club’s Crabapple Course outside Atlanta.

Texas and Georgia are each making a third start in match play. Texas won the 2012 title at Riviera Country Club, while Georgia lost to Augusta State in 2011 at Karsten Creek.

LSU is making a second consecutive match-play appearance after reaching the semifinals last year. USC is also making a second appearance in match play."

The way the matchups are set "on paper" we will should pick it up as the morning moves on.

1: Healy (16) vs Valentine (67) paper loss

2: Straka (45) vs Koepka (29) paper win

3: Sigg (49) vs Fernandes (38) paper win

4: DeMoss (11) vs Correa (6) paper win

5: McCoy (33) vs Fricker (67) paper loss
