For those that went, was the officiating really as bad as it appeared to be on radio?

 

Apparently it was a brand-new crew officiating their first games?

Yes,the crew was bad all weekend long. But they were bad on both sides, and maybe bad isn't a good word, because if they were indeed brand new they certainly looked inexperienced. However on Sunday I think the Home plate umpire was sick and was gutting it out so I want to give him a bit of a pass.

And yes we still have the best RPI in the conference @ 24th, although precariously positioned. We also have the toughest SOS in the conference which is 12th hardest in the nation. Much easier row to hoe over the final three conference series. If we can take 4 of 6 from UCF and 2 of 3 from Tulane and beat Jacksonville, that'll put us at 35 wins going into the tourney with a 15-9 record in conference. Hopefully that will be enough for a top seed but we will need some help along the way.

We could really use a signature win next week over the Gators to help our postseason positioning.

 

What are the odds Coach will start Herget against their Tuesday pitcher? Assuming we can take 2 from the kannigets this weekend, that UF game will mean a lot more to us than it will to them...

Kentucky took 2 from the Gators in Gainesville, last weekend. It's possible.

I can't imagine starting Hergett, unless you want to start him on Sunday and then have him go back to Friday, I don't know. It depends on if he feels we can sweep Tulane in Tulane. If you start Hergett on Sunday then you are giving away one of the froday/saturday games. If you start Hergett on Friday you are thinking sweep.

Taking two of three from Tulane and beating the Gators is likely better for our postseason than sweeping Tulane and losing to the Gators.

 

Isn't it GREAT to be talking about postseason positioning ?!?!?!?!??!!!
