The ladies played lights out.  There were a couple of ESPN type moments for our Bulls.  I happen to enjoy watching the ladies game more than the men at this stage.

That said, I think in the next year or two the men will be more competitive and provide a more enjoyable game.  Coach O only had 3 returnees on the team this year so the cohesiveness needed isn't there yet.

I too would like to see more students in attendance at the games.

Another great night for the ladies. I love numbers, and if you project out what Courtney Williams and Alicia Jenkins could be at when next year is done is really amazing.

Jose has 2 scholarships for next year. I'll be real interested to see if he adds to players to help next year or two freshmen who will wait their turn on the bench. If he goes two Jucos or graduated seniors, then he is going all in on next year. I could support either strategy. Thinking about next year is the only thing that distracts me from how incredible we already are this year.

Here are two facts that don't seem to go together:

3 of the 5 starters failed to score for USF.

USF won by 39 points.

(not a concern or problem, just interesting)

In case anyone missed the play of the game:

Courtney Williams goes to throw in the ball from out of bounds under the UC basket.  She throws the ball into the rear-end of a Bearcat, who has her back to the baseline.  Courtney takes the rebound, turns, lays it in for two while getting fouled and then makes the free throw to complete the 3-point play.

That is one of the ESPN moments I was talking about.  LOL

I didn't stay up to watch, did she make sports center?

When have we EVER had a team with such depth - in ANY sport?

So if you think about it - if we're a buzzer bucket away from being a sweet16-level team this year, then a couple high JUCO's could put us in the final four next year.

Too bad the F4 isn't in Tampa next year instead of this year.

So, I guess we'll just have to do it THIS year with the team we have! :D

If the 9th best team in the Old Big East can win the men's natty, then it's certainly possible for the 2nd best team in the new AAC.

Go Bulls!
