They aired a story about spying via drone in Seattle. All of the drone footage was from USF. Good shots of the library, and the Bulls mural on the side of it. That's why people don't post. It could benefit a program... an eye in the sky does not lie Lots of people post on TBP. And probably most appreciate a clean forum without duplicate threads. Thank you for your opinion. NM Edited June 24, 2014 by charsibb

It's only news because it was called a drone in the press release. It's not a drone, it's a freaken RC helicopter with a GoPro. Nothing to see here. That's exactly what it is. Do we have a NSA Spy course on campus? The drones should had been given to the USFPD to cut down on the bike thefts on campus instead. You have absolutely no idea how grant money works or what these "drones" actually are, do you?

You have absolutely no idea how grant money works or what these "drones" actually are, do you? Grant money is a way for government to apparently waste the money that it steals from us. I could understand if these drones were being used for a specific program.... but since they are being rented out for joy rides by students, I'm not connecting the dots. Appears to be another recruitment tool to boost admission... "come to USF for the education... stay for the free drone rentals".

You have to be a USF student, take a quick course on how to use it, and have professor supervision. It's for special projects, not for joy rides. If you break, you buy. I could see it being used by art students, music students, business (marketing, advertising) students, health students, etc for various audio visual projects and assignments. Did you guys complain when the library allowed you to check out camcorders in the 80's? I like it. Go Bulls! Edited June 24, 2014 by KB
