@USFCollin: According to sources, Steve Masiello was offered the USF job last night. 5 years, $6.2 million. Masiello was also in Tampa yesterday.

If this is at all true, the Athletic Dept has not rooted out its leakers yet. This would be great news for BC should they decide to go to Masiello and their Plan B.

So much for the privacy of a search firm. That is, of course, if any of this is true.

The leakers need to be out on their ass. Harlan doesn't need that.

They leak to Collin because he used to work there with them. He has good friends inside that athletic department.

And yes Bulliver, It is true.

@GaryParrishCBS: It’s now done. As I reported earlier, Steve Masiello will be USF’s next coach. Story: http://t.co/InBevAdASQ

Now that I've had a chance to look around it's likely not a leak. Regardless, the folks that work in the Athletics Department owe their allegiance to USF not a friend.

Had this been a true leak it could have undermined the process.

Just imagine.  If he can somehow turn the mess of a USF BB program around, he can pretty much write his ticket to any program in the country.

That will probably be the perception but the program isn't what you would call a mes right now ... Top notch facilities and good recruiting classes are awaiting CSM.

I don't see any blue so I'm assuming you are being sincere with that comment if that's possible ;)

Why wouldn't I be sincere with that comment?

Well....because you are Triple B and sarcasm and pessimism are what you usually bring.

Trip brings the troof!!!

So when do the complaints about Marosiello's courtside demeanor begin?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
