Thanks to all and Paisa. Savvy Jack's was the winner. Glad I did it to... didn't realize how Miami-like the traffic in Tampa has become in the 10 yrs since I've lived there, and in hindsight, driving into town would have turned out poorly. Breakfast and meeting went well.

Fantastic, glad to hear you meeting went well and you liked the place. The folks that own the restaurant are incredibly nice people.

The Embassy Suites on campus has a great breakfast buffet.

And that buffet...not closely guarded.

 

Embassy Suites was used by the university for their continuing education program, Project Management Certification. And SOME MEMBERS of our class, arriving around 07:30 would, blend in with the rest of the folks in business attire and partake. Not that I condone that behavior, but it was entertaining.

 

However, having seen this post, the Mrs. & I tried Savvy Jacks. We live in Carrollwood and it is definitely worth the drive. Small, quiet, and the food is amazingly fresh and well prepared. Whatever they offer as "the special" is indeed special. 

 

Plus I like hearing the French accent.
