So you see the AD stepping down days before an investigation takes place as just what, coincidence? His due to retire in 2015 when his contract is up. Do we need a year and change to find another AD? Why now?

Nothing in the official release says he is "stepping down" ...

You're not wrong, but it's worth noting that they have very little incentive to make the situation look any more tumultuous than it already is.

That is true .... if it is indeed already tumultuous.

USF just sent me this statement on the matter:

“We have been contacted and are aware of concerns involving one of our student-athletes. We have initiated a review of the matter and have asked the NCAA to assist us.  The student-athlete was completely certified and cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center prior to enrolling. “

Too be fair, McMurphy would have been crucified for reporting the same story we're praising Collin for.

I appreciate Collin for putting it out there, but it feels like Collin may have thought it was bigger and it looks to me like it will likely pass by with a whimper and not turn into a barn burner.  Great news for USF if it goes down that way.

+1

In the past I have disliked McMurphy because of his grudge match with Leavitt, who really put this program on the map.  But let's be honest, Leavitt was not a media darling and for good reason.  Since McMurphy left to join the four letter his reports are almost always ahead of the curve and accurate.  I don't have to be best friends with the guy to appreciate that he's pretty good at what he does.

Hope the NCAA understands that an angry father is more than likely going to largely inflate the truth.

An angry dad will lie? We've been there before.

Had no idea how big or small it was, which is why I wrote it when I did and the way I did. And I agree it's not big right now at all. Why does everything have to be either super-huge or total non-story??

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
