Maybe it's because he did such a great job breaking the news of the Holtz firing, he's now been hand picked to tease and eventually break the next big USF athletics event to occur.

I got the sense that something is about to happen that will validate or invalidate something else. So Collin has to sit on it for a week. If A happens, then B will happen, but if C happens, then either D will happen or B won't happen. Or some such.

It is bizarre. Usually people want to break the news, not get broken by it. Not at good ol' USF. We do things bass-ackwards around here. And investigative journalism about what's going on at USF left around the time McMurphy left. Even Greg, who was great, never really broke any significant news that we didn't get directly from USF about an hour later (at least that I can recall).

Someone tell Collin that he's ultimately doing more harm than good by being coy. It gives the fanbase an opportunity to dredge up about a hundred negative things it could be (because, after all, the revenue teams are struggling - a lot).

 

That reminds me, I wonder if USF ever purged McMurphy's mole on the inside of USF Athletics in the LRS Center....or, wait....

 

I have a hunch, I'll unveil it next week.
