how about no more...

 

gimmicky cartoon ad campaigns with Willie driving a bus

cheesy blue shirts with names on them

going to Vero for camp (that's worked out well)

reffering to our dline as the green plague and saying we can win a "Natty"

the made up tradition of the "Bull Stampede"

 

When you have this over the top silliness before you play your first game, you open yourself up to ridicule when you lay an enormous egg like they did last night.

 

Here's an idea let's start a new tradition called "Winning"

 

The new slogan for the rest of the season "#SayNothing until you #WInSomething"

The real message I would like to send to the players and coaches is keep your head up and let it start a fire in your soul. This could be a great motivator and we are pulling for you.

It only gets easier from here - the next time the embarrasement doesn't hurt so bad, we should mostly be numb to the embarrassment by the time UCF roles around.

You have to market.  Else you see what we had in the past, success on the field and no one in the stands.  Let's not descend into "blame everyone, blame anything" mode.

 

Marketing set the team up for potentially wider notice, and the team wet the bed this time.
