The Good, Eveld looked decent and serviceable as a QB, Shaw played well

 

The Bad, spotty blocking and missed assignments on the OL, DBs are young did ok for first game did not get much support from D line biggest problem was tackling and YACs

 

The Ugly, where to begin? The front seven dominated by MSU O line, no offensive production in first half, does anyone know how to tackle? Receivers dropping balls

Pretty much my thoughts but you left out a coaching grade and that's not going to be good. Before this game was a blowout, before the 3rd, Eveld should have been sent in  just to see what he could do. Might not have worked BUT #DOSOMETHING. And the same criticism as he got at the Bucs, our new defensive backs assistant is too passive and doesn't adjust during the game. I have no idea what the DC was doing because the runs were never stopped.

 

Taggart is the 4th youngest FBS coach and tonight it showed.

Figured the performance grades reflected the coaching and didn't think it needed to be graded.

 

One thing in Taggarts defense. When he named Floyd the starter he did have to give him time enough to prove himself. Not sure he could have pulled Floyd earlier and not alienate the team.

Shaw actually looked pretty good. 

Mcfarland looked good too.

And davis looks like a stud like always.

 

Defense needs a defibrillator.

Well the food at my tailgate was good. The 0-12 record this year covers bad and ugly.

Defense gave up 53 to an FCS team. A different QB from the beginning wouldn't have changed the outcome. We have no talent on defense
