From Tom Zebold of GoUSFBulls.com:

Checking In With Coach Wells

Reporters got to chat with Walt Wells for the first time this fall on Friday and USF’s new offensive coordinator gave his group a solid review up to this point in camp.

“The one thing that you notice is our kids did a lot of studying over the summer,” Well said. “There are definitely a lot less missed assignments, fumbled snaps and a lot less miscues than in the spring.”

Before heading to USF, Wells served on Taggart’s staff at Western Kentucky and said USF’s new pro-style offense will look a lot like the Hilltoppers’ from a play-call standpoint.

“How we get to them and what formations we use are different because we’ve got some different dudes to do them with. We can put people into positions to be playmakers,” Wells said.

Just one noteworthy item.

McNeese's Defensive Coordinator worked under your head coach as his DC last year at WKU.

He's a McNeese grad who returned home this year. Should make for an interesting game as he should be pretty familiar with your offensive system.

I can't make it to the game this year but I was there in 2006. Had a great time.

Willie T knows how he runs his D a d can make adjustments based upon coverage and stacks he's use to seeing...

Either way, looking forward to us getting this thing kicked off and hope for no injuries
