Right...  The one we want to win is now losing

It's the same nondescript catholic school in my brain.

That's major BS.

The higher seed should ALWAYS be the home team. Full stop.

They treat it as if its a playoff series. Like in the MLB how in a best of 5 series it's a 3-2 split.

The biggest problem with the current format is when a 1-loss team beats an unbeaten team in the championship. That to me is the biggest BS; it should be double elimination the whole way.

Johnnies about to lose their chance to control their own destiny in a positive way. Down to their last 3 outs, down 6-2

The softball tourney works that way, why doesn't the baseball tourney?

I think that's because it is single elimination.  When you look at the regional and WCWS, when it's double-elimination, the teams will alternate.  Its the same reason why for Softball Super Regionals last year, we were the road team twice because we lost a coin flip.

Say what? They're both double elimination for the BET.

Something doesn't add up here...

No. The Big East softball tournament is a single elimination format (something I strongly disagree with, but I'll take it this year).

Guys, the Big East has a national TV window for ESPNU on Sunday, and you don't get that unless TV knows a championship is being awarded in that game. So yes, you can have a team with no losses beaten by a team with one loss for a championship, but if you want TV, it's a small sacrifice.

7-2 Seton Hall over St Johns.  St Johns is eliminated.

Seton Hall awaits the loser of Pitt-Notre Dame, which should be starting in the next 10 minutes or so (yep, they're already an hour behind schedule)
