From what I heard last season, Severino look good in practice with the subs (2nd & 3rd stringers)... he knew the plays better than PJ or RB, and made fewer mistakes...

I still say he should have played more last year... he could not have been THAT much worse than PJ or RB in practice... and since PJ was like 1 of 20-in a game - a game that RB subbed for him and threw an INT on his first attempt - Severino should have at least been in for one series.

Yes, the coaches know better than I... but the definition of insanity is to keep repeating what you are doing and expecting different results.

Here is my projected (let me pull this out of my a** 'cause there is no way I really know this) depth chart:

Spring:  CD, AS, PJ

Fall: CD, CH, AS, PJ, MG  (or it could finish MG, PJ)...

s. bien,

you said if pj beats out denson it is a good sign.

well, not unless denson is playing well and pj beats him out.

I just hope pj doesn't beat him out because denson is playing well or he hasn't quite got the offense down after being on the scout team last season.

All i want is solid qb play....am i asking too mucj??

Spin this how you want but it sure doesn't sound like the press from a week ago.  Denson making great strides and PJ still #1.  What happened this week ?  Denson hasn't caught PJ ?  PJ is improving ?  Coach just removed one from the group and made room for an incoming freshman ?  This just makes for more anticipation then anything.  More questions.

I think we all know about the trouble PJ has had and I don't expect him to be the starter next year.....but what does it say about him that he has been caught by Anthony Severino? He's been the starter for 1 and a half seasons, and even if he doesn't have the talent, one would think the playbook would be 2nd nature to him by now.  :-/

severino could be like dorsey...just a thought.  Some guys are smart, can learn a system, and have things start clicking for them.  I'm not upset if he proves himself the starter.

With all the recievers we have, a guy who can sit back and throw touch passes could be just what we need, even if he doesnt have much mobility or the strongest arm.

A smart QB might just be what we need.  With a rusher like Hall all he has to do is read the D and call the right play.  And if we get into third and long make most of the plays but definitly dont turn the ball over.

Just saw a piece on A.D. McPherson's pro day.  He had a 40" vertical,  ran his 40s in the mid-4.5 range. (He ran one against the wind, and one with the wind.) Near the end of his position drills, he threw a flat-footed pass 72 yards.

Ah, what could have been....

That is why I laugh when ucfers label us thug U. Despite our dire need for a QB we passed on a immense talent like AD.

I betcha Marshall wouldn't have passed on the kid.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
