Grades might be an issue... Although he states he has a 2.8 but we don't know what he made on the SAT. I find it interesting that he decommits from Florida around the time he would recieve his test scores. Looks like he probably failed Spanish too and I believe USF requires two years of a foreign language. There might be some flexibility in the requirement if he agrees to take foreign language classes at the college level but the academic committee has been pretty strict as of late though.

Typical UF, UM, FSU disinformation. "those grapes were sour anyway".

I was going to bump this because y'all have been trying to speculate on what the USF coaches might have up their sleeve with respect to the wide receiver position, considering they renegged on Stanley Clerveaux when he tried to commit.

A month ago Derek Tyson of RecruitingNation told ESPN on-air that he believed Ryeshene is really high on USF and that's probably where he's going to go in the wake of he and Florida deciding to part ways. Grades are an issue, I believe.

Looks great on tape. Especially recently. There's not much tape floating around out there from 2012 or on...but his 2011 tape showed a guy with great natural run after catch and open field skills, and in the low amount of 2012 tape including post season Combine stuff he showed a lot more polish and quickness getting off the line and running routes. There's a reason he's four stars.

Runs a 4.72 40 according to ESPN... isn't that awfully slow for a receiver?  Surprising that he is able to be a 4 star despite the lack of speed.

Have you seen his tape? He's like a man playing against toddlers in them. Kid is a serious talent and I think his 40 times were better than that at the rivals camp.

Those ESPN times are notoriously slow.

I remember a kid a year ago that I *know* ran in the 4.3's. I know he did. ESPN had him in like the 4.6's.

My estimates for Ryeshene are about 4.55 to 4.60 which is good for a 6'4" junior in high school still trying to work on his speed. Got to remember these guys are not yet in their speed prime. I'm finding that guys that run in the 4.3's this early are RARE and quite frankly so are dudes that run in the 4.4's. You have to pay a little more attention to the way a guy moves on the football field, the way he's built, the way he accelerates, etc.

Ryeshene's issue from a speed standpoint is purely transition. After the initial burst he gets high and isn't really able to hit that fifth gear to take him through the final 20 at a super fast pace. As young as he is, that's a training issue. But in terms of initial burst and acceleration, those are there big time. George Campbell is going to be a highly, highly rated prospect...and if you get them both on the 40 yard dash then George is probably beating Ryeshene because he transitions well. But you watch the two play football and it's clear that Ryeshene is accelerating faster and creating more separation. Which is why I think football people are still looking at Campbell on defense.

The State of Florida requires 2 years of a foreign language.  It's not just USF.

Correct.

As an alternative, you can take 2 years of a foreign language in High School, which will count.

Or take a CLAST exam for the credit (for example: if you are a fluent speaker, and didn't want to take the HS class.)es

That's not true. I took 3 years of spanish in high school and I still had to take 2 years of spanish in college. You can test out of taking it in college

My son, who is entering USF in the fall, has completed his foreign language requirement from his high school classes.
