What Coach needs to do is open it up to every student who wants to try out for it. I bet with all the war vets coming home and going to college, etc., there's an older guy somewhere who can throw the heck out of the ball!

 

Wouldn't it be cool if we got a super QB from out of nowhere?

 

Okay, I did work like 12 hours today. A little tired and a lot crazy!

Did this years ago to the frat houses looking for a field goal kicker.  Youre not nuts just tired..

If my memory is correct -not certain--I believe Bill Gramatica was found  playing soccer for USF and Coach Leavit. Put a jersey on him and a week later he was on the field.

But Martin was already a pro kicker at that point, so a little different scenario there.  Oh yeah, and the kicker vs. quarterback thing.  If only playing QB was as simple as kicking...

Have you ever seen the movie Necessary Roughness with Scott Bakula?  We need to find a forty year old who was a top QB recruit in high school but did not go to school because he had to take over the family business after his father died.

Don't think so. A friend of mine had eligibility left and was playing tennis for a Juco while in his 40's.
