Lost in all of the coaching talk is how well our women are doing on court. Even before last night's (Saturday) 92-52 win over Jacksonville, they are getting votes in the Coach's Poll. I would expect us ranked very soon.

Go Bulls!

According to one website, before yesterdays game, our SOS was ranked 254. So its a good start, but the real test comes when we get to January and start conference play against Notre Dame and UConn.

Once again, being patient with a coach through the tough times is rewarded.

Ladies, keep up the good work!

From a lazy outsider that doesn't follow WBB for a number of reasons, what's their SOS? Have they won tough games over good opponents? This part of the college basketball season is often difficult to judge from. I'd be interested in a brief primer of USF WBB success in 2012 should anyone be interested in providing.

SOS = 254, just read that again...

While I agree, this coach had actually accomplished solid recruiting classes and postseason victories in his time at USF. Does not compare to the Skip Holtz in any regard, but could pertain to Coach Heath at some point.

I'm not really referring to Holtz at the end of the season. It became clear that he lost the team.

But here on TBP, there were people calling for Fernandez' head a couple of years ago. Just like there were meltdowns about Heath and how he needed to go immediately.

My general point is that just because a team is struggling at a given point in time does not mean the coach is a failure and needs to be fired immediately. Bobby Bowden was run out of WVU then turned FSU into a national power.

Sometimes, the best move is to not make a move and it's been proven again.

Those in charge of making such decisions have a tough job, and those of us sitting behind a keyboard should have a bit more trust in those that know what is going on behind the scenes. Woulard has done a pretty good overall in making such decisions.
