This is a terrible hire. There are bigger names and better coaches out there. Looks like USF took the cheap way . The program has not upgraded one bit with the hiring of Taggart. Looks like a lot of

Color me hopeful and unimpressed. Also, 16-20 IS a losing record unless you break them up individually.

because he went 2-10 in WKU's first FBS season. What do you expect? Heck, we only beat them 24-12 that year. He had them hanging right there with us with much less talent.

Some of those other 20 losses include Alabama, LSU, Kentucky a year ago, Nebraska.

What kind of offense does he run? Might have to go and see if ESPN 3 has any WKU games.

A power based simplified West Coast offense. The Harbaugh system. 2-3 TE sets with TEs intermittently blocking or out on patterns. Harbaugh tends to aim for a 50/50 split on running and passing. Stronger roles for FBs and not so many sideways plays - a lot more up the gut based on strong fundamentals and hitting assignments.

Agreed. Or maybe Tyrone Nix........I believe he is at Middle TN State now. But has a resume suggesting he should be at a higher level of competition.

I'm cautiously optimistic at best right now. We have a lot of damage to repair

ps-- he should get to work immediately-- WKU can play their meaningless bowl game with whatever assistant might be their next HC. I'm sure the kids understand. You don't pay someone this kind of money and not expect them to hit the ground running. It isn't about being greedy-- it's about being responsible and getting your recruiting and staff together while you still have a chance to have an immediate impact in those areas. Also-- NOT a fan of Randy Shanon at all -- keep it clean USF-- he has tons of baggage.
