The first half sucked as bad as the second but SYR didn't score because they kepy shooting themselves in the foot! They were running right down our throat! That was a pathetic display in the 2nd half. We have reached a new low for sure!

I am not sure that is a balanced view if when Syracuse manages to score it is because our defense is inept and when they get stood up at the goal line it is because they are shooting themselves in the foot. They had some great second half adjustments and we all know Cosh gets a contractual meal break dinner the intermission. But the first half defense was effective - you hold a team to 3 points, even giving up 200+ yards, most Coaches are going to be OK wtih that!

it's skip's defense. if he wanted to pressure the QB then he would. we had the same problems last year. it's almost embarrassing that they don't bring pressure when the game is on the line. they let that guy sit back there for 6 seconds while a 20 yard out develops. it's a joke.

We seemed to bring a lot of pressure in the final drive tonight - nearly every play as I recall. The problem is A) our d-line isn't effective and thus the increased pressure is usually easily picked up and our secondary isn't very good and thus often gives up huge plays when pressure doesn't get there.

Think back to the corner back blitz we called tonight. The CB did a horrible job disguising the blitz, the running back picked it up without much effort, and the safety couldn't cover in man to man. Result, relatively easy TD.

actually we didn't on almost every play. how do you think those 20 yard outs had time to develop. they rushed 4. I watched specifically to see if they would bring pressure. I think barrington got to him once but that was the only time

Since holtz and co took over I can't think of one defensive player that's improved. Cosh and holtz are destroying our team. If we just had an average defense we'd be fine

The schemes are awful and always inappropriate. How many sacks have we had on the last 3 game losing drives?

We don't have the secondary talent to play tight man coverage, we must play 5+ yards off and try and keep everything in front of us and this showed in the final drive. We need better players and better coaching.
