If we don't get Petrino wait a year or two for Pete Carroll.

Is there really that big a difference in paying a Skip Holtz $2 million and paying a proven high level winner more?

The love for Petrino would be short lived, and wind up putting the program in a death spiral!

I would have given McCarney a shot-- thought he got run out of Iowa State when he had done more for that program than anyone for years before he came on board

Why would McCarney leave a program that is upwardly mobile and has a brand spanking new OCS to jump into a death spiral?

I was referring to the original question-- which was shortly after CJL was fired, not as things stand today.

But McCarney knows firsthand what a slimey POS Woolard is and would never risk what's left of his career in the hands Doug Woolard.

Calvin Magee. I wanted him then and I want him now. the guy has been one of the best offensive minds understudy for a decade now.

3 different places. 3 different top 10 offenses.

has his masters from USF. played in the NFL in tampa. coached at USF for 5 years.

he has learned from the best. time for him to come home.

pay him $1.2M per with lots of incentives. $500k per year goes to skips buyout. gives you an additional $300k for assistants. get a good DC that has actually been successful.

Taggart and him are the two realistic choices I like the most. The next coach really needs to have deep FL recruiting ties and I high energy level. We really need someone that is on the come up and invested in making their name here, not some retread that may not have the same commitment to the program.
