Wow, this sucks. Another major bowl game with a Big Ten/SEC matchup. Now every major New Years bowl game in Florida has a Big Ten/SEC pairing.

If it was not a Monday night I would break out the heavy booze and drink the pain away...

BE wil create its own Bowl with help from Fed Ex and $ from all the teams who left. We may be able to offer enough to get the #2 or 3 team from one of the other "bigger" conferences.

Yeah but that $$ is tied to Memphis and the Liberty Bowl... at best we could use the money to overhaul the Liberty Bowl and make it into a world class venue.

Source. You think any of the existing bowl game deals remain in force? If every conference bails on the existing bowl structure, do you actually think every bowl will sue 2 conferences which were tied to it by a now non-existent BCS AQ agreement. The Gloves are off, all of the conferences are taking over their bowl arangements. Got tired of giving that money away. Liberty, schmiberty. Edited by Bullwinkle

True, there is not many southern stadiums available on New Years Day. I really wish we could get the Chicken Bowl in Atl but the SEC and ACC have that all set. We could have some association with the Feista Bowl. All of this will show what the new commish is all about.

Bull winkle is right the "Champions Bowl between SEC & Big 12 is looking at a payout of ~80 mil for the two leagues, so WVU could see as much as $4 mil addition revenue a year even if it is not playing in it if bowl game money is split evenly between teams in a conference.

It's looking like the Fiesta is being proposed as a Big 12 / PAC 12 game on Fox, (note still in works so no links)

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

Oh come on, anyone that didn't see this coming hasn't been watching the stage production. This falls into the category of
  1. Pitt, TCU, Syr and Couch Burning U have left the conference. we are doomed the sky is falling we are CUSA. Oh, NBC is considering paying us ACC money, never mind.

  2. Our Tater Head Commisioner has left we are in disarray, the conference is doomed. Oh, we hired one of the most influential men in CFB sports broadcasting, never mind.

  3. We will never again be able to compete with the Big Deal" conferences. Oh, we went 3-0 vs the ACC this weekend, never mind.

  4. BSU can't find a home for their OS. Oh, they joined the Big East anyway, never mind.

Just because the Big East doesn't have patsies like the SEC(Vandy, UK, UT, Ark and AU). Like the ACC (Duke, WF, UNC, MD, BC, UM, Syr) like the Joke prestigious Big Ten(Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin(real joke) Northwestern.purdue and PSU). Who plays a tougher schedule, us or them? When they start counting true schedule strength these teams will have to quit padding their OOC games with road warrior patsies. Might make things real interesting. And when we get to quit sucking ESPN's weinie by playing Thursday night games after West Coast tough road games. We'll see what happens.

God bless your eternal optimism in these dark times ....

Let's see. Desirable venues NOT booked on dec 31st thru Jan 7.. RJS former Outback Bowl(recently available), Fed Ex Field(Cowboys/Skins on 30th, not a bad act to follow), Georgia Dome(out of running for SEC/B12 bowl) would love a marquee matchup., Everbank Field, Jax( good enough for the world's largest outdoor cocktail party)(UGA vs UF). Those were the first 4 I checked.Where do you get your information? Edited by Bullwinkle
