I am starting to think that if we played our neighbors to the East this season we would lose, as sad as that is to say.

Did you see both o and d lines getting beat most of the game? In my opinion (which this is the part I agree with), the difference between the average to good QB's and the great ones are that the great ones can make plays to help out their struggling teammates on the OL. It has been difficult for USF to land a great QB and I would imagine with the perception of the conference changing it is going to get tougher. Todd Reesing at Kansas was 2 inches shorter, was mostly a good game manager, but was put in a system that made the most of what he brought to the table. Chase Daniel same size as BJ. Put in a system that got the most out of what he had to offer. BJ is more than likely going to end up the all time BE combined yardage leader. He has enough ability throwing and running the ball. He needs an OC understands how to win with him. When we went to the pistol offense at Nevada is when we started moving. Run the freaking spread/read option. If BJ gets hurt so be it. Then you are grooming the QB of the future. Play to win this year and that's what gives us the best opportunity. Quite honestly, I don't recall seeing an offense like we ran against Rutgers except maybe when I was a little kid watching Daryl Lamonica on the Raiders drop back and throw bombs 20 times a game. That offense on Thursday was absolutely ridiculous. There was no taking advantage of what they set up by stretching the field. There was no exploiting the middle of the field when they widened it. Towards the middle of 4th quarter there was a replay they showed from behind the QB. There were several receivers all running patterns outside the numbers. No defenders 10 to 12 yards over the middle. How about a delay to a TE. He could have run up and down the field twice before any was near him. Incredible play calling. The OC needs to put the QB in a position to succeed. It starts with that.
