It's not really hard to understand - Rutgers' blitzing D overloaded our O-line all last night, and it would have gotten better if we had completed more passes in the intermediate range. If we had more first downs, it would have likely have caused them to back out and we may have gotten a better push on run blocking. Bottom line, our QB and offense didn't know how to respond to this pressure - even though BJ has faced it for 4 years now. Holtz has faced it for 3, but I'm not sure what more could have been done, since BJ's strengths do not lie in making reads, checking down to other WR options or keeping composure under heavy pressure. The O-line needs to be given a pass tonight. Most of the blame tonight rests with the defense, QB and WRs, and coaching.

Our lack of offense and a running game killed us

I've got to think that our coaches have to be able to find an answer for plugging the gap in the middle of the field, but if they could, you'd think they would have by now. At least the redzone defense didn't struggle too bad. If our offense performed better, we would have won.

If you know Rutgers is going to bring the pressure, how do you not adjust the offense to keep them honest. BJ is a redshirt senior and has the poise of the freshman QB. Coaches missed that memo, or don't know how to prepare the team for it. Then on the other side Nova had years to pass. The 38 minutes of possession was more on the D. They couldn't get off the field for nothing. Those 4 TOs didn't help, but so many third and long conversions it was stupid

Murray run.. or throw it to the heavens last night. Bad play calling on both sides of the field.. we practically gave them the game. And Rutgers gave us chances and we couldn't take advantage.. all around disappointing, I hope they can get their act together.. our D is too soft and is not feared..
