USF might need to threaten to sue them to protect their property rights to the logo.

I say give em a license to use with the stipulation that 10% of all proceeds to go to a charity of our choice. That way we enforce our license, but don't come off looking dickish. Edited by Bullwinkle

Nobody ever said we should account for the contribution, it's just a way to enforce the rights . The more times this happens it actually strengthens USF's rights.receiving a "consideration" for licens

It'd be kinda funny if Spanish Fort High School was using the "U" iconic logo before USF and we stole it from them! If they are using our trademark, maybe we should be flattered and at the worst send them a letter to stop using it without our permission.

Yeah, I say let em use it. If it does somehow impact us, then I would probably do it. But I remember when Iowa asked my HS to change our logo and that really sucked. Had been our logo since I could remember and we had to completely change everything for our senior year.

By the way, Spanish Fort was playing Daphne, where Eric Lee graduated from last december.

Because it's trademarked and if it is being used without the schools permission they would be breaking the law.

Spanish Fort has only been around since 2005. USF introduced the new logo in 2003.
