usfvictor Posted July 2, 2012 Group: Member Topic Count: 18 Content Count: 761 Reputation: 45 Days Won: 1 Joined: 01/09/2011 Share Posted July 2, 2012 we wouldn't want him because he wasn't committed to us. Its not like a transfer either that for w/e reason didn't work out at his original school and wants to come here. His case is that he was denied admission and now wants a fallback. we wouldn't want to be his fallback. ultimately though its all speculation and he might end up coming to USF. Just stating my own opinion as to why USF wouldn't want him.

Those schools always play scholarship roulette and sometimes they get caught. This might have little or nothing to do with Phillips except that he was the one they could make up a story for. Sorry, if i'm cynical but you got to know that stuff happens.

Sorry, if i'm cynical but you got to know that stuff happens. I notice that happens more often to guys, like this one, who gave very early verbals. By the times signing day comes the school has even better players at that position, so they really don't want him. Sometimes, they tell the player to take a grey shirt, if they still want to enroll the following spring. We've gotten a couple of such guys from FSU [DT Anthony Hill] and Miami [TE Cedric Hill] who didn't want to grey shirt with them.
