Who the hell would pay for a 2nd tier college football championship? No one. Like it or not we're making better money in this system than we could elsewhere

Why would anyone think that the playoff teams would be chosen AFTER the bowls. SMH.

Why would anyone think they have even decided this issue?. They don't even know who is gonna do the picking or how much money everyone gets. I haven't seen anyone provide a source for their astonishment. Like I said earlier I read that one of the proposals that was floating about was to have final selection take place after the bowls. Do you really think they want a team that just got destroyed in a bowl game to play in the Fabulous 4 contest? Now that sounds ridiculous. SMH even harder.

Either way, no one here, knows the answer. The committees to try to figure this out, are just now being put together. The devil is in the details.

we have more access now then we had last year. 4 spots is better than 2. once they get a taste of that $500M per year the playoffs generate they will expand the playoffs and there will be more opportunities.

not sure why anyone thinks USF in entitled to anything anyway. we are a small fish. if we go undefeated and there is a SEC team, Big 12 team, Big 10 team and a pac 12 team undefeated then we should be left out. face it, they play in tougher conferences and have tougher schedules.

no we dont

big five will control the spots

Like I mentioned before, USF, or any other non, "Big 5" school has to have a real strong OOC schedule to be considered.

the new set up is designed for the BENEFIT OF BIG 5

maybe one undefeated non big 5 team will get in

that anyone who has been watching the game for more than 10 years doesnt get it is somewhat surprising

the big east is on same footing now with other non big 5 schools

the big 5 controlled the spots before. there were only 2 of them. adding 2 more spots makes it more inclusive.

BTW the selection committee will be determined similar to the selection committee for basketball. there is no conspiracy to keep us out.

LOL .... "more inclusive". Technically, you are correct ... but one of the non Big 5 making the playoff would mean that, minimum, 2 of the Big 5 conferences wouldn't be represented. How often do you think that would be allowed to occur? Look, I think we are exactly where we should be given our history and it's regrettable that we're on the outside looking in when it comes to a MNC. However, that's not going to diminish my enjoyment of Bulls football game day .... whatever day it falls on.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
