Last I read he is suppose to transfer this summer from ND to USF. Anyone have any news on this or heard anything about him and his transfer? This is obviously huge for USF and I haven't heard or read about this in a while.

Most likely, but he was supposedly going to seek a hardship waiver. Has that changed?

12:01 spacer.gif 561 is asking about Notre Dame transfer Aaron Lynch, the stud defensive end who is enrolling this summer. USF has said they're exploring the possibility of applying for a hardship waiver that would allow him to play this fall instead of sitting out a year.

12:02 spacer.gif USF has had great success with these in the past -- I know the specifics of what they'd be going for, and my instinct is that it's not an obvious hardship case. There's certainly more to it than having a girlfriend here in Florida, but right now, I'd be impressed/surprised if Lynch is able to play this fall.

12:03 spacer.gif He's a huge talent, and if there's any chance for USF at all, it's worth submitting the paperwork to get him a year earlier. Defensive end is a solid position for USF, but there's limited depth beyond the top three or so.

Thanks for posting Mama. The last I heard, which was before the GA chat, was that Coach Holtz intended on seeking a hardship of some sort. Other than your post I haven't heard anything else on this. As we all know Lynch is a huge talent and will make for an immediate impact, whenever he sees the field. This is why I am so curious to get a status update. Maybe GA reads this and has some more info he can share with us all.

I don't think he can seek the hardship waiver until he is actually enrolled at USF. That's probably why we haven't heard anything more.

Kids report for Summer B orientation next week. I've heard nothing to suggest Lynch won't be sitting out the 2012 season and playing in 2013.
