Is that even possible?

Can they realistically solidify 6 and add 6?

Is ESPN done with conference pillaging?  What if Big 12 calls on any of the BE teams?  What about the longshot the ACC wants another?

Does this even address the bastardized conference and its "Basketball schools"?

I see this as an honorable announcement, but really, 12 teams?  By when?  Next season?  So much more to be done.

At least we have a statement from the Big East that indicates a fight to survive in some form or another.  I'm just not confident it can happen.  I don't believe we're close to being done with "conference realignment".

Add Boise State, BYU(?), SMU, Houston, Navy, and Air Force. If not BYU then maybe Temple, Nevada, or ECU. There you have your 6. BOISE STATE IS A MUST!!!

I think it's funny that so many one the board are in denial that UCF is likely coming.

If the Big East adds 6 I'd bet my balls one is UCF.

Doesn't seem that impossible to add another 6 teams even within the region.

ECU

UCF

Temple

Villanova

Memphis

Navy

How about the University of Toronto and McGill University?   Now that would be an orginal move by the Big East.    Now the question would be if we allow them  to play hockey?

UCF is coming, I'm sure.  Even though I think it sucks and they bring nothing but one AQ point to the table, for some reason, the national media keeps bringing them up in conversations about what schools to add that will help solidify and "save" the Big East.  Their name seems to hold some kind of high regard in our expansion talks and I'm not quite sure why.

If they want to save the Big East , it has to be that private catholic school from upstate Indiana.

Adding six non-BCS caliber teams may be extraordinarily easy to do.  Whether or not they help at all is another debate.

A bigger concern is whether or not the current six members are sewn up.  I believe UL, WVU, UC, and UConn would jump at the opportunity to leave.  I hope we would too.

You have to nail down the current six to add anyone of value and to keep it stable.  I don't see how that's done.  At what point does the Big East remaining members throw in to the BE?  It seems some are still shopping themselves to the Big 12 and others.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
