We should have come out of the half with Lamar as LB that just tracked down Graham. We also should have used a few of our time outs on D, when the guys were winded! We ended the game with like 2 time outs unused.

Guys, the O sucked. Even if the D throws a shut out 2nd half. We still lose. There are 3 phases to a game, at least 2 of them have to function to win. D was horrid, but not one D in College football could've stopped Pitt's O last night.

Hi, let's assume the game plays the same way if the D contains Pitt in the second half.

If the D contains Pitt we get to run the ball more, which was working just as well as Pitt's run game (same yards per carry). If the defense plays better we might have shorter fields, etc.

In short, saying because we didn't score in the second half that we wouldn't have no matter waht the D did is just wrong.

The offense in Pitt's previous games, was nothing like Thursday night. They caught lightning. You can all say what you want, but the way Pitt played THAT NIGHT. Not 1 ONE college D would've stopped them. If the O had ANY movement in the second half, the game would've been completly different. down 3, 3 and out to start the 2nd half. That is ALL ON THE O. There is no way to spin that. The D was horrible, but the O was as well. I don't know why you all have a hard on for the O.

Down 3 at the half. The O goes 3 and out. No way that you can pin that on the D.

And the Pitt offense immediately goes 69 yards in 9 plays for a TD.  You put that on the offense?

It was a team loss, just like the ND game was a team win.  Why is it so important for us to find a particular player or players to blame?

The fresh D also allowed Pitt to run unapposed right down the field for a touchdown.  C'mon man.

Why did you reply to my post? I'm the one that's been saying that BOTH the O AND D were poor. See post be deldabull!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
