ULY 26, 2011 More NFL deals: Marshall to Giants, Gidrey to 'Skins

USF football class of 2011, which had thre players drafted, now has four signing free-agent deals to go to NFL camps this week, the latest being defensive end Craig Marshall to the Giants and tight end Kevin Gidrey to the Redskins.

Marshall will be reunited with former teammates Jason Pierre-Paul and Jacquian Williams (and NFL veteran Stephen Nicholas could be joining them in New York), and Gidrey gets a shot with the team he knew best growing up in Virginia Beach.

"All you heard was Redskins," said Gidrey, who came to USF with Skip Holtz for his final college season after graduating from East Carolina. "It was a blessing to get the call from them today."

Gidrey has worked hard to keep in shape in the seven months since USF's season ended -- he's still at 245 pounds, about where he played at for the Bulls. Another former USF player with Virginia ties, Hampton linebacker Brandon Peguese, signed with the Eagles. Peguese redshirted at USF in 2006 and played one season with the Bulls before transferring to the I-AA school.
