I don't think FGCU was ever part of USF.  You might be thinking of New College.

This might be a record, but the school I call San Marcos State has had 6 names. I wonder what they've done.

The University of North Alabama should change its mascot name to "Yankees" from "Lions."  There aren't any lions in Alabama except maybe in zoos.

Florida Gulf Coast was part of USF back in 1980's it was USF Ft. Myers campus.
