Not gonna happen. Armwood guys don't come here. At least not straight outta high school

USF has had decent success at getting a few Armwood guys to commit, Plant, on the other hand, is a different story. Off the top of my head I can only remember Dontae Spires as being one of the few Plant kids to come to USF directly from high school.

We're doing pretty well with Armwood, Hillsborough, and Robinson. Opening up Jefferson and Plant City is great.  A lot of the local schools with lesser football names are joining the team I see a LOT more USF gear in the gyms than ever before, and it's getting to be a big deal to be a Bull.

All it would take is a couple of good years, and a Big East championship, and the flood gates should open up.

Seffner (FL) Armwood high school offensive lineman Kevin McCoy is up to ten offers and he’s taken two visits this summer. Even with limited trips to other schools, McCoy feels the time is nearing for a decision

“I want to do it before the season starts or at the latest, the first month of the season,†said McCoy. “Even though I haven’t taken many visits, I think I will still be able to do it by then. That’s what I’m aiming for.â€

McCoy, who is 6-foot-5 and 275-pounds, has 10 offers. He plays right tackle in high school, he says most teams are recruiting him at that position.

“I haven’t gone many places, I’ve only been to Vanderbilt and USF,†adding. “I loved both Vandy and USF. They treated me great, that’s why they’re in my top 4.â€

In no order, McCoy’s top 4 is as follows: Auburn, UCF, USF and Vanderbilt

“I probably talk to Vandy and USF the most. I’m on the phone with Vandy a lot and USF writes me letters. I get hand written letters almost every week from the offensive coordinator at USF (Steve Shankweiler).â€

McCoy says there are a few factors that will ultimately determine where he attends college.

“First of all, they have to have my major (forensics). Academics have to be on point. When it comes to football, it doesn’t matter if they’re winning national titles every year. I want to go to a place where I’m going to play and I feel comfortable with the coaches.â€
