My group will be staying at the Marriott Downtown/Magnificent Mile.  Its a nice hotel in a great location (on Rush St).  Right now it is $219/night.

For those staying in Chicago and have never been to Wrigley Field (or want to go back), the Cubs have daily games at Wrigley from Friday Sept 2nd to Wed Sept 7th.

Experience a Cubs game IN and OUTSIDE the Stadium (i.e. all the bars in Wrigleyville), is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Yea I'm looking for some hotel input too. I see a few hotels on magnificent mile, is that a good area to stay. I want to stay in a fun place that's stumbling distance from cool bars and central to the different "must see's".

Staying at the Seneca, next to the John Hancock Bldg. Easy walking/stumbling distance to Rush St. and the El.

I believe they also have shuttles around the Mile. Getting around downtown and to the Cubs game seems to be pretty easy.

i would avoid downtown hotels.  they can get pricey.

also, the hotels adjacent to ohare all charge for overnight parking, even if you're a guest (going through this with my wedding reception in two months at the intercontinental ohare)

it might be a big pain to get around, but there are a lot of nearby suburbs that you can easily get to/from via the metra lines that all converge downtown at either union staion or ogilve station.  you could in theory save money that way and then get transportation to/from downtown.  metra has scheduled stops, so it's easy to plan if you went that route.

I've never used priceline.  Can you pick the hotel you bid on?
