Ouch ... I knew that.

Meh, we both knew it, but it's not really a valid answer to my question. They didn't draft the guy but instead plucked him off the Pats (or, he plucked them).

In some ways, TMac exemplifies my thoughts on the Bucs, why didn't they draft him if they liked him? Why didn't they take Jenks instead of Talib? Why bother looking at a guy like Grothe who you have no intention on taking? They do the same thing with 5+ Bulls a year. They're brought in because they're close.

The Bulls did not have many draft prospects. Matt Grothe was not going to be on anybodyies NFL roster. Not even a preseason roster. As for Talib vs. Jenkins. Mike Jenkins is a man to man cover corner. Talib more of zone cover guy. It came down to schemes. Talib is a talented HEAD CASE. Skinny is a better fit with the Bucs then M. Jenkins. That's why I wouldn't be surprise to see Skinny in between the 3rd and 5th rounds.

they always seem to show some local interest and then overlook all of them when it comes to the draft and signing FA's.

I don't fault them for not drafting these guys, but why bother to bring so many in every year? You'd like to think a workout with a team means they have at least marginal interest with you, but with the Bucs/Bulls it appears they just do it for lip service most of the time.
