Nice article ..... even if written from a homeristic point of view ... but the future does look bright ... and I'm sure you'll let us know when it gets here.

Good for UCF.  I wish we could do as well as last year in the Big East, but we're doomed to the basement.

"I know everybody is assuming in the next few years we're going to have a lot of movement (in conference expansion), not just with the non-automatic qualifiers but across the board," said ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit. "George O'Leary, I remember when he took that job, there was a university out there willing to give him a chance. I think a lot of people thought, well OK we're not going to hear from George O'Leary any more.

"Just looking at the results the last couple of years they put a very, very competitive team and competitive product out there. They've got a new stadium that their fan base is really embracing what they are doing there. It's interesting to compare them to South Florida because if you had brought these two schools up 7 or 8 years ago, you would have never assumed they would be able to get on a field and compete with Miami or a Florida State or Florida. But they've made a lot of progress in a short time."

UCF hasn't competed on the field with any of those listed (USF certainly has) but they certainly have been beaten like a rented mule four-out-of-four against USF.  I don't get the comparison except that they are in debt up to their eyeballs by trying to buy their own relevancy while trying to ride the coattails of others.
